Gundam Wing Episode 03


Zechs is headed for the Alliance military base at Corsica, supposedly to talk to the base commander, but in reality he's expecting the gundams to attack a ceremony where lots of the Specials' mobile suits will be. The commander is not in when Zechs shows up. But another officer, Lt. Walker, brings him to a hangar where the mobile suit called Tallgeese sits. Walker expalins that this was the prototype for all modern mobile suits and as such it is much bigger and much more powerful than many of the current models. But Tallgeese hides a problem: the suit was designed without consideration for the human pilot inside, so that it can be very dangerous to operate (g-forces and such.) Walker tells Zechs to take Tallgeese and complete the work it needs, as it is the only mobile suit they have that might have a chance to beat the gundams.

Meanwhile Heero is in the hospital, under heavy restraint and supervision by Alliance personnel. He regains consciousness and seems to know exactly where he is, but can't get out of his restraints. About the same time, Relena comes to the hospital and demands to see Heero. She and Sally Po are about to do just that when Duo sneaks into Heero's room and rescues him. They both head out one of the windows (which happens to overlook a cliff) and Heero refuses to open his parachute. WHen Relena cries, "Heeee-ro!" from the window, he opens his eyes and the chute, but ends up hitting the ground pretty hard. Being Heero, he gets up with only a broken leg to bother him. Duo says, "I know it sounds corny, but right now the only you can do is trust me." The two of them escape successfully.

Back at Corsica Base, Trowa attacks in Heavyarms and is doing well in the battle when (of course) he runs out of ammunition. The Specials mobile suits, led by Lt. Walker, begin to get the better of him, but Quatre shows up in Sandrock and takes out the Specials troops. As Walker's Aries is crushed by Sandrock, Zechs escapes the base in a cargo plane with Tallgeese and says, Walker, your sacrifice will not be forgotten." Only Heavyarms and Sandrock are left, and they start fighting but Quatre calls it off, coming out of his suit shouting, "We shouldn't be fighting each other!" Trowa comes out with his hand up, and the two stare at each other as the episode ends.
