If you think about going to Crete and at the same time consider renting a scooter (car or motor bike), then be aware of the following pitfall.

This company (S.T. Rentals) have got that business policy that if the scooter breaks down in the renting period there will not be deleivered a replacement scooter and neither will the money for the period it takes to repair the scooter be paid back.

The reason for this warning is caused by the fact that I rented a scooter which subsequently broke down. Never ending discussions followed, discussions which had the tendency to develop into detailed explanations from the compy's side about what I had done to make their scooter break down. The company would not give me a replacement scooter in spite of the fact that thay had plenty to take from. (On the pic the man who rented us the scooter is examining it)

Not untill we went to the police something happened. The police got the owner of the scooter shop out there and We were told that the scooter would be repaired. Again we got a long explanation about what had been wrong with the scooter, but no compensation for the time in which we had to do without it.
