Located
just off the main road to Parika in Meten-Meer-Zorg
is
the Toucan Lodge Guest House and Heritage Museum.
When you step out onto the observation deck you have a panoramic view
of the Atlantic Ocean and Essequibo River.
If you have your bathing suit, you can go for a quick dip in our small pool, or "lime" on the deck with a drink.
If you would like to overnight at the Guest House, rooms range from $3000 to $5000 GY. Some of the rooms are self contained and some are equipped with air conditioning.
A tour
of the Heritage Museum located on the second floor, with currator/owner,
Gary Serrao, will reveal a treasure trove of hisorical objects; facts
and stories of many original maps of Guyana.
A rare stamp collection adds to the historical value of the museum's offerings,
as well as many books written by Guyanese authors.
The cost to visit the museum, for non-guests, is $100 GY for adults and half price for children 12 and under.
