Being alert and aware, watching the dancefloor identifying problems and escoring trouble-makers off the premesis.

I was employed to patrol the boundry of the site during construction of the specially build real-snow ski ramp, ensuring the public were escorted from the area when trespassing.
I also worked packing snow on the mornings of the event.

Soon into starting the job as a general staff member I was offered the chance to train for senior staff status which invloved training on the computer system, stock managment and office admin. Whilst training I also worked in the warehouse at the rear of the store performing stock taking and performed general staff duties such as till work and ailse maintanence.

The job primarily involved teaching children aged from 12 to 16 kayaking but I also had duties that included food preparation, household maintenance, evening entertainment (running disco, rugby/football games, orienteering) and transporting equipment with the site jeep and trailer.

The work here allowed me to focus on my kayak instruction and gain teaching hours, which I used to achieve my Instructor qualification. I also had minor roles cleaning and transporting equipment round the site and was also part of some general camp maintenance.

Basic Bar work with some beer cellar duties. Working with a team of staff at weekends and evenings but I was alone on the Saturday shift. I was also responsible for taking food orders and taking meals to customers.

Worked at newly opened cocktail bar at weekends in very busy conditions and worked alone in pub during weekdays.

After turning 18 I became a member of the bar staff team at the nightclub and I learned how to use the pumps, operate and empty the tills at the end of the night as well as other general bar skills.

I held a security position where I worked with other members of staff to deter petty thieves.

My duties included bringing stock from the stores at the back of the club, filling fridges and helping with ordering the anticipated amount of stock. After 4 months I was promoted to cellar manager where I was responsible for cellar maintenance and stock rotation.

I worked on a Lettuce Packaging Rig that involved production-line type conditions.

I believe this to be an extremly important time where I learned how essential punctuality, reliability and most of all dedication are to a work enviroment. This part-time job made me mature and understand how these can be problems which effect a small business teaching me the importance of responcibility.
