Date Made: September 2002
Time to make: 10+ hours
Cost: $150+
Worn to: Ushicon 2003, A-kon 2003

I just started to watch an anime called Pita-ten made by the same person who made Di Gi Charat. It was fairly cute and I really liked the design of the main character Misha-san.

She had a dress with a three layered skirt, a cute apron, and a hat with two ribbons. I decided that I would go for the cute factor one again because...it was cute to me. ^^

Again, I set out with the help of my aunt and prepared sketches of how each piece should be. The entire costume would consist of the dress, apron, hat, and boot covers.

When we started out...unfortunately I was still a bit of a novice when it came to costume making and I ended up getting a heavy material for the outer part of the dress; which in turn, made the dress heavier for the "poof" of the dress. So the overall look of the dress was very heavy and not as I imagined it to be. The details of the dress however were failry accurate and I added some further touches to it. The boot covers were the most time consuming because I made them myself. I was trying to have it be more like an actual shoe rather than cover. Unfortunately, I was short on time (yet again..working on them at the last night before Ushicon and again at A-kon for the rework).

The weight of the costume was very heavy indeed. It also made walking in the costume difficult. I really did want the costume, but it was not what I fully expected. ^^;; I really did wish I got a lighter fabric. This costume was an experience in learning that I must pay attention to details and how everything will match up along side each other. Though probably one of my least favorite costumes, it was a good experience to make and wear.
