Attractions

This section focuses attention on the actual activities which contribute to the tourism experience. For most people it is what is done at the destination which is of most importance. This is true, most particularly for those people for whom travel and tourism is primarily a recreational and pleasurable experience (that is compared to visiting friends and relatives, or undertaking business travel).

The three important characteristics for attractions are:

  1. they provide the initial attraction or 'pull' for the visit to Dubai.

  2. they provide the visitor with the 'things to see', thereby providing opportunities for entertainment and recreation.

  3. they provide the visitor with the 'things to do', that is the basic activity in tourism.
