My opinion of the album:
I think this would be easier if I just went through the songs and spoke
my piece about each one, rather than lumping them all into a "good" or
"bad" category... PHANTOM LIMB: good song! musically done pretty well,
but Les' vocals really take something away.. MEDLEY: again, musically
well done, but Les' vocals get in the way on the parts that he sang..
WHITEWASHED.. well done! .. SKEEZIX: amazing well done musically! My
complaints are entirely vocal. Again, I think that Les' voice is not
suited well with Tourniquet's style here. The others were also
straining near the end, and it did not sound as good as it could have...
THE TEMPTER.. good song! I have no major complaints with this one, I
think they did a good job with this one... THE MESSIAH.. ABSOLUTELY
BEAUTIFUL!
So, as you can see, overall I think they really did themselves a major
injustice by choosing Les to take over lead vocals for the ep. I love
Les' voice, but it, in my opinion, does not work well with Tourniquet's
speed metal. I think they would have been better off giving the rest of
the vocals to Gary and Erik. However, apart from that, this ep is
awesome!
