Increased Wisdom |
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: none Special Multiclassing - Like all prestige classes, the wisdom master does not bestow any experience penalties for multiclassing. Additionally, the multiclassing restrictions placed on monks and paladins do not apply to the wisdom master. Increased Wisdom - The wisdom master's Wisdom score increases by 1. This is in addition to the ability score increases normally gained every 4 levels. Wisdom Ability - The wisdom master gains a special ability chosen from the following list: -- Sixth Sense (EX) If the wisdom master is surprised (by an ambush for example) then he is allowed to make a Wisdom check (DC 20) and if successful, the wisdom master can act in the surprise round as if he wasn't surprised. This ability can be used even in situations when the wisdom master would have no indication of the on-coming danger. Additionally, the wisdom master can use his Wisdom modifier instead of his Dexterity modifier on initiative rolls. -- Wise Action (EX) Once per day the wisdom master can add his Wisdom bonus to a single d20 roll (attack roll, saving throw, skill check, initiative roll, etc.). This ability does not require an action on the part of the character, but it must be declared before the roll is made. This ability can be gained multiple times, granting one additional Wise Action each day. -- Exceptional Perception (EX) The wisdom master adds his class level to all Wisdom checks, and skill checks that have Wisdom as a key ability. -- Insightful Strike (EX) Using a full-round action, the wisdom master can study a single opponent. For the rest of the encounter, the wisdom master may apply his Wisdom modifier to attack rolls instead of his Strength or Dexterity modifier. The wisdom master can use this ability on multiple foes, but each foe must be individually studied for a full-round. -- Improve Existing Caster Level An wisdom master continues training in magic as well as his field of research. Thus, when this ability is gained, the character gains new spells per day as if he had also gained a level in a spellcasting class he belonged to before he added the meta class. He does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained (improved chance of controlling or rebuking undead, metamagic or item creation feats, and so on). This essentially means that he adds one to the level of some other spellcasting class the character has, then determines spells per day, spells know, and caster level accordingly. If a character had more than one spellcasting class before he became an wisdom master, he must decide to which class he improves for purposes of determining spells per day when he adds the new level. When applied to a psionic class, this ability will increase the character's power points and powers known as if he had advanced one level in that class. This ability can only be applied to spellcasting classes that use Wisdom as its key ability (such as a cleric). This ability can be gained multiple times. |
