Moments: Kyra's Dance
The noise on the other side of the door was his first warning that he'd been at work too long.  He unlocked and opened the door to let his ears be assaulted by seventies disco music.  He winced and shut the door behind him, moving into his living room and letting a smile cross his lips.

A red headed woman was flashing in and out of the sunlight streaming through the windows.  She was barefoot as she was dancing around the room, singing along to Gloria Gaynor.  He let his eyes travel over her, taking in the black jeans and green tank top she was wearing.  Her arms were above her head and her eyes were closed.

He shook his head, amused.  He should be used to this by now - coming home to the stereo blasting and Kyra dancing around the living room.  She always did this when she was done grading papers or when she hadn't been able to sleep the night before.  He figured today it was a result of both.  She'd been grading when he'd left for work and she was still wearing the same clothes.

"Hey beautiful," he called out above the music.

She stopped in mid-step, her back to him.  She lowered her arms and turned around, smiling sheepishly.  "You caught me."

"I can see that.  Get your work done?" he asked, setting his briefcase down.  She walked over to the stereo and turned it off.

"Finished about three this morning," she said, stretching her arms over her head.

"Did you get any sleep?"  He took his jacket off and tossed it over the chair.  She frowned at him before crossing the room to grab it and hang it up in the front hall closet.

"Nope.  Ended up cleaning the house," she said with a shrug as she came back to put her arms around his neck.

"Kyra…"  He brought his hands up to her ribs and gently pushed her away.

She smiled at him as she let her hands slide down his arms.  "Hey - I don't have classes today, so it's no big deal."

"You know I worry about you," he said softly, sliding one hand up and tracing his thumb lightly across the scar on her shoulder, a reminder of how they'd met.  She sighed.

"I know.  Probably as much as I worry about you."  Her green eyes were serious for a moment, before beginning to sparkle with a wicked gleam.  "I'll make you a deal, though."

"Oh?"  He raised an eyebrow.

"I'll go to bed and get some sleep right now, if…"

"If what?"

She leaned up and kissed him lightly.  "If you join me, handsome.  You're looking a little worn out yourself."

"It’s a deal."  He kissed her then, delighting in her response.  He allowed his hands to roam over her body, teasingly avoiding the areas he knew she wanted him to touch.  She retaliated by unbuttoning his shirt and tracing random lines on his chest with her fingertips.

They broke off the kiss, and she let her mouth travel across his cheek up to his ear.  "Take me to bed, Gil," she whispered.

"My pleasure," he whispered back.
