Radek looked up as John walked into his lab. Rodney was on the other side of the room, and he took one look at John's face and held his hands up in an "I didn't do it!" gesture before backing out of the door closest to him. Both doors to the lab slid shut, and Radek knew that Rodney would have used his artificial ATA gene to lock the doors for them. Radek reminded himself to finish those equations for Rodney's pet theory to thank him."John, what's wrong?" Radek closed the top of his computer and stood up. John's expression was closed off, as if he were hiding something.
John didn't say anything, instead prowled around the lab, his hands in his pockets.
Radek frowned. "John?" he called again.
It was like John hadn't heard him. Radek sighed and walked over to John, setting a hand on his shoulder and spinning him around. His other hand pulled John's head toward him, and Radek kissed him hard. John's arms closed around him, kissing back. Radek sensed John was trying to work something out, and when they broke off their kiss to breathe, Radek merely leaned his head against John.
"Anything I can do," he said, "you know I will do."
He felt and heard John's sigh. "I know," John said quietly. "I just don't want to burden you with my issues."
Radek pulled back and whacked John's chest with his hand. "What is the good of having a lover if you cannot share your issues with them?"
John blinked, and then grinned. "Well, the hot, mind-blowing sex is no small perk . . ."
Radek narrowed his eyes. "Not a 'small' perk at all," he said slowly, secretly delighting in John's laughter. "But there is more to us than just that, John."
"I know," John said seriously. "I know. I'm just. . . not used to having someone I can share things with."
Radek looked at John, then nodded. "Whenever you are ready," he said with a small shrug.
John gave him an almost shy smile. "Thanks, Radek," he said before leaning down to kiss him lightly.
Radek smiled when John pulled back. "Now, about that hot, mind-blowing sex?" he asked with a suggestive wiggle of his eyebrows.
John chuckled. "That is the best idea I have heard all day."
Radek winced, knowing John had been in meetings with the other military personnel currently on Atlantis. "Come," he said, tugging on John's arm.
"I certainly plan to."
Radek rolled his eyes and mock-glared at John, who just grinned. "You think you are so cute," Radek growled.
John pushed Radek against the wall and kissed him, hard and fast. "Keep growling like that and I'll show you how dangerous cute can be."
Radek smiled slowly. "Please do," he growled, then chuckled and gasped as John proceeded to make good on his threat.
