It's not everyday you can call someone the soul of R&B or see a super star with powerful talent, But there is one ... 15 year old artist name Nakia. With her powerful and soul voice following in the steps of the one and only Mary J. Blidge, she is the next female that the people are going to want to be like. In this Interview she talks about what every other female artists talks about... boys, fashion, school, and music industry. You will read alot. Nakia's personal Interviewer got the chance to talk with her about a couple of thing's in the one untimited Interview.

Da'Naja: What's up yall this is Da'Naja and I'm chillin here with my home girl the one and only Soul of R&B Nakia... Now Nakia tell me What's up with you? What have you been up to lately?!

Nakia: Mann, Alot. I've been really trying to focus on what's ahead in the year to come 2004. Like I'm really excitied because I can now actually start traveling and I'm so happy about that, I've been doing alot of songs with other singers/rappers, I just been headed of the game

Da'Naja: Now that's cool. So how do you like traveling I mean do you get homesick sometimes and miss your family and friends?

Nakia: A little bit, because you know sometimes you would get tired of traveling and want to be at home with you'r family and friend's but I would'nt get home sick, I dont know, I would just be like aww man when am I going to to be home, but it a nice thing to travel to see something new and different.

Da'Naja: Yeah it is. So I'm wondering and I know your fans are too... how did you come up with the name Nakia?

Nakia: lol, actually here's the thing, I was sittin in my school is 8th grade and I got tired of my old name so Im like dang I want something like Takieah and Nakieah but I dont want it like to be that long so I just shortin Nakieah down to Nakia and I didnt know but my neice name is Nakia also, so it means alot to me now but her's is spelled the long way.

Da'Naja: That's tight! So how old are you now?

Nakia: 15br>
Da'Naja: GETTING OLD THERE!!!! What grade are you in and are you still in regular school or Home school?

Nakia: lol, yeah.I'm in the 10th grade and I go to regular school Home school is boring to me

Da'Naja: So do you have any crushes in the industry and if so did you meet them yet?

Nakia: yeah I like Shad, I've met him befor he cool thats the only person so big shout out to shad Da'Naja: Thats whats up! Who do you admire?

Nakia: Even doe she's going I know for a fact that she's still here in spirit, I want her music to live on but shes the really biggest person I admire Aaliyah. Her song's are so powerful and wounderful. And Mary J. I'm trying to be like on that level where she is so I got alot of work to do.

Da'Naja: I bet you'll make it up there if you do everything right. Do you do any shows or concert performances?

Nakia: Thanks, Next year. Thats why I'm going to be traveling but the only one I know fo sure im going to be performin is in the spring time.

Da'Naja: Where are you going to be in the spring time so your fans can come and check you out?

Nakia: At J.F.K High School in Cleveland,OHIO it's free bring you'r mother,father,sister,brother dont matter

Da'Naja: I'll try to make it if I cant than send me some pics! lol So what other things do you have in mind besides singing? I mean like the WNBA, Actress, Model or something?

Nakia: Alright, lol, WNBA? I've wanted to do that I'm no good at basketball I'm probly like the worst player in the world I have to go like real real close to the hoop to get the ball in, Yeah I want to do Acting,Modeling, and Dancing also you know show yall some of my moves so I can have the people in the club tryin to do my dances. and I'm really goofy/laugh type of person and people tell me all the time I need to be an actor and play someone really goofy

Da'Naja: lol. So you like to dance do you have any dancers for your songs yet?

Nakia: No, I'm looking for some I'm going to probly put my cell phone number on my site so they can get at me, but of course they would have to aduition.

Da'Naja: Oh, dont put your cell number on there. You can have an 1800 number for them to call and your own extension so you can get at them but I dont think your cell numbers a good idea!

Nakia: Yeah probly, alot of people would probly be calling, But thanks for letting me know that.

Da'Naja: Yeah so were gonna get into a little girly talk..... How's your love life?!

Nakia: lmao it's fine I guess, I'am in a relationship but its like my friends have a problem with the age thing but I dont think it really matter around them cus my mother cool with it, but I mean he tells me he loves me alot.

Da'Naja: How long have you two been together?

Nakia: For some months

Da'Naja: Thats cool.

Nakia: yeah.

Da'Naja: What artists do you want to work with?

Nakia: I would love with Lil'Miss NaNa, 216, Bow, Jhene, Missy, Trina, 50th cent,Em., Eve, and who ever else want to work with me

Da'Naja: So you said you've been doing alot of songs with singers/ rappers who did you work with so far?

Nakia: I worked with Ketia, Tamara, plan on working with my brother platinum, a member of FQW, Angel.

Da'Naja: That's cool. What do you plan on doing for the year of 2004, Whats your New years Resolution?

Nakia: My New years Resolution is to go on tour, I plan on doing an underground album, I want to do the traveling of course, start getting more involved in my singing and stuff.

Da'Naja: How do you feel about other young artists, not just the ones that are coming out but the ones that are out already?

Nakia: I feel good. Because now a day's we need more young people out here to represent and do they thing. I'm proud because now, they showing the older people that young people have talent.

Da'Naja: That's whassup! Do you think you will have any kind of competing with other young female artist out? For example : Jhene or 3LW?

Nakia: Yeah probly, Because you know how people are these days always trying to compare someone but it wont matter to me. Just as long as I know I'm doing my thing and they doing theres I'm cool

Da'Naja: Were you ever in a group... any kind of group?

Nakia: Yeah I been in like 5 groups things never worked out, so I'ma solo artists I've been solo for some years now

Da'Naja: Do you like being solo better? If so why...?

Nakia: Yeah, because you dont have to worry about pratice and stuff, its like you can do things when you feel like it and stuff

Da'Naja: I understand... Well Im young just like you and Im into fashion I LOVE FASHION! I like to wear little short skirts, tight pants, cute shirts... Baby Phat, Lady Enyce and etc... What kind of Fashion person are you?

Nakia: When I wear clothes I just like to be me and not dress to impress someone, I like to wear tight jeans and like shirts , If I'm going out to the club thats when I really dress cus I cant go out look messed up but if I'm in the house I'll wear shorts and like a t-shirt if im not going anywhere i just like to be comfortable with what i wear.

Da'Naja: WAIT! STOP! PARK YOUR CAR! Did you just say the club? :-D

Nakia: lol yeah

Da'Naja: Do you mean teen age parties or they actually let you in clubs?

Nakia: lmao like 16 and older clubs but shhh

Nakia: I'm under age

Da'Naja: I wont say nothing! Lol! So where going to get into your favorite things alittle bit... Whats your favorite food and color?

Nakia: Favorite Food....Pizza Hut's Pizza, my favorite color um Blue

Da'Naja: How tall are you and how much do you weigh?

Nakia: 5"3 I weight like 130 something or more but I'm thick in all the right places

Da'Naja: Lol thats whassup! When you go places do you have like screaming fans around you asking for autographs and pictures?

Nakia: Not like really big cus you know I'ma girl and most females only scream for they're favorite male people but i have some people ask me for autrographs

Da'Naja: How does that make you feel?

Nakia: good

Nakia: makes me smile

Da'Naja: Lol! Thats cool.

Nakia:Yup...I love my fans.

Da'Naja:So how did you get the title "Sould of R&B?" I never heard that one before...

Nakia: A girl wrote it a letter about me and she said something then she used that and so ever since I been using that to call myself, but I really think I'am the soul of r&b or going to be because thats my stlye my back bone I put my all into it its like it just come right from the soul the heart.

Da'Naja: Thats sweet!!!!! AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW lol.

Nakia: lol yeah!!!

Nakia: umm, First off I know it would be a fan around my age and if it was a girl I would take her to a place where all the girls like to go shopping We would get her anything she would want, then we would get our hair done, nails, toes, and stuff and then we would go to the club the next day I would show them how a day is for me like going to the studio and stuff if it was a male, we would just lay back and be cool play video games, go to the arcade, have dinner, watch scary movies, just do fun things.
