In 2001 I was contact by Sarah Laing of DNA
design in Wellington.
Sarah had found my website and asked if I was
interested in appearing in a booklet they were producing as part of a series
for a client of theirs.
I agreed and was featured with 7 other 'Identities'
with 'Obsessions.

Toy Collector
My Toys aren't for kids. They range from half an inch
to a three-foot long Star Wars spaceship. I get a lot through the Internet
- I check on eBay most days.
My favourite piece is probably the Batmobile. I would
love the Yak Face figure to complete my Star Wars collection, but at more
than NZ$300, there's a lot of other things I could buy.
New Zealand doesn't tend to get the bigger, more expensive
things. A lot of the time, we don't get the playsets, which are great for
displaying toys. I'm always looking for good new display pieces. Even if
their electronics don't work any more, that's only one aspect of the toy.
I don't play with them as such, but I like moving the
joints and making them work. I am in the process of setting up a toy room
- my parents kept bugging me about wantiing their front room back. One day.
I would love to start a toy museum of my own. |
