I moved the axle foward 1.5" to gain clearance between the tire and firewall. Why 1.5" instead of 2"? Because it is to most you can move it without having to modify or fabricate a new dragling. Also there is a hole already drilled in one of the spring pads at exactly 1.5" from the original one. Going to 2" would require to fill in this hole and redrill beside.

It will be required to make the torque rod longer and check for drive shaft spline engagement.

The midle hole is the original one.

I drilled a 9/16" hole 1.5" behind the other one.

Make sure you have access to a 9/16" drill bit with the extremity machined down to 1/2" or 3/8" to fit your drill!

I also drilled the bump stop plate so it moved with the axle.

You can see now the spring is not centered anymore on the axle, or if you prefer, the axle moved foward.
