These are the parts cut from 3/16" by 2" flat bar and drilled 9/16". The two tubes are 1.25"ID to receive the bushings for the hinge part.

At the right are the stock Toyota shackles that are 3.5" long compared to the missing ling that are 5" long folded and 10" long unfolded.

Here the parts are welded and painted using POR15 rust paint/treatment.

Same thing here. Different angle.
The shackles are assembled. One is folded and the other one unfolded.

On the truck. Folded and unfolded.

As you can see, brake lines and drive shaft are not long enough now. That will be fixed later.

I know pictures taken in a garage are not proving the off-road capability of the system, but I will try to get some shots of them in action in the trail this summer.

*** Note for brake hoses ***

Since brake hoses will be too short they will need to be replaced with longer ones.

The options are:

1. Superlift, Earls, and other companies that make longer stainless braided hoses. They are very good and firm up the pedal but they are quite expensive.

2. Buy a new rubber OEM hose. Buy looking in the Raybestos and Wagner catalog that is illustrated with dimensions, I was able to find a hose that is long enough for my application. It was a Wagner #F120870.

3. Keep the front hose and screw at the end a rear hose. The front hose is female at both ends since the rear one is female and male. I don't recommend this one since the hose will be excessively long and may rub on the tire and also the longer the hose, the mushier the pedal will be.

I went with option #2. The Wagner hose was $25CAN versus the Superlift ones at $75CAN each.

Some specs:

-IFS front hose: 14"

-live axle front hose:18"

-Superlift (as stated in their catalog for a 85 Toy) +4", so 18+4=22"

-Wagner #F120870: 23"
