I decided to install a snorkel because we cross deep water once in a while and I don't want to loose my built Buick V6 like I lost my 22RE. The 22RE hydrolocked, broke a connecting rod which made a nice hole in the block, and at the same time the piston was bending an opened valve.

Live and learn!

My snorkel is made from 3" PVC gutter tubing. It was originally white and tubings are available with nice molded angles. For $15 it looks nice and works well.

Each joint is glued with ABS glue plus I did a small silicone bead around them.

This shot shows the connection under the hood. It's a simple installation. If you have to take your time at one moment, I would suggest that you measure twice before cutting the hole in the fender.

Humm, I'm getting lazy, I didn't clean under the hood for the picture.
