Testing
of the suspension travel after the missing link shackles were add. I still have
to do something for the rear. I will eventually add buggy leaf and possibly
Chevy springs at the back.
Here,
Robert reaches the top of a rocky hill. His Samurai jumped a couple of times
in the air, up and down, left to right. It was entertaining!
Testing
... testing....
Here
is Alain,with his 1983 Toyota. It has a Chevy 350/350hp, TH350, Ford 9"
rear axle, mini spool locker, custom made convertible top, winch, Swamper
16-38 on 12" rims with bead locks, fiberglass bed with GM step side flares.
The bed is actuated by a hydraulic cylinder.
He's
the owner, with André, of "Pièces d'autos et de 4X4 Grande
Côte" (450-472-6006) in St-Eustache Qc.
Alain
trying to cross a beaver dam. Water was too deep and he had to go back. You
can see the beavers' house in the middle of the water, yeah that pile of logs.
Playing
in rocks. Here in Quebec, it's easier to find mud than rocks. But that trail
(Weir) has lots of rocks and hills to climb. Not comparable to the famous rocky
trails found in the US but it's still fun.
In
preparation for the trail. This long wheel base Suzuki has a modified 350 with
pipes going up through the hood and the rad in the bed. It was built for mud
racing, not for trails.
Crossing
a small river.
Here
I'm going down a rocky hill.
He
also made his custom Xtra Cab by extending the cab and cutting the front of
the bed.
