This is a front view of the front suspsension after painting and installation of the Trailmaster 4" IFS suspsension lift. All lift components are painted red. The front crossmember, also red, is actually factory. For more wheel travel, I installed Rockstomper's IFS extended travel kit which includes a 1/4" upper ball joint spacer to provide an additional 1/2" or so of "free" lift, and shortened bumpstop drop brackets. The bumpstop drop brackets are the two squarish red shapes just passed the ends of the lower steering stablizer shock. I left the lower bumpstops (compression) alone becuase the Rockstomper kit provides more than enough compession travel. I did, however, cut the upper bumstops (droop) down halfway to gain me an extra 1" of droop. These bumpstops are about 1/2" shorter than the ones that came with the kit. Due to the laws of geometry, this allows for more than that at the wheel, but I"m not sure how much more. Downey dual front shock hoops, and Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks (not shown). I installed a dual Trailmaster steering stablizer with the antcipation of 35" tires in the near future to control the big meats. The picture is quite dark, and I hope to get a better one soon. I estimate the front wheel travel to be about 10" after cycling the lower a-arm from bumpstop to bumpstop. Not too shabby for an IFS lift with relatively cheap modifications. | ||||||||||||||
