The Naresuan University ("Mor Nor" in Thai) main campus locates 16 km outside (to the south) of Phitsanulok City. It is on the way by bus from Bangkok to Phitsanulok. There is also another small campus in town but the TPCosmo 2nd school will be held at main campus outside the city.
The school is organised just after the Songkran (Thai new year on 13th of April) festival. The festival will be cerebrated between 12th-15th of April. During this festival, many of people leave Bangkok to their hometown, do goodturn to their parents and monks in Temples and also play water! There are lots of fun at this festival especially in Chiang Mai. At Phitsanulok, lots of people also cerebrate this event (even on campus) --some of our NU lecturers got so wet before coming to class!
Then between 11th-13th of April there will be heavy traffic out of Bangkok and during 14th-16th of April the traffic will go backwards into Bangkok again.
- If you arrive Bangkok on 11th-13th, it would be very hard to get bus or train to Phitsanulok. Travelling by airplane would be recommended but we recommend that you should need to book to ticket from your travel agency for this in-country flight together with the flight from your country to Bangkok.
- If you arrive Bangkok on 14th-16th, it is easy now to get the bus to Phitsanulok or anywhere outside Bangkok. Bangkok at this time is almost empty!
(Travelling by train is not recommended here since the Central Bangkok Train Station, Hua Lum Phong, is far from the airport.)
From
Bangkok international airport, you can connect in-country flight to
Phitsanulok airport. It will take about 1 hour on the flight.
From Phitsanulok airport, there will be the airport taxi to hotels or NU campus.
If you arrive on 15th or 16th of April 2003, there will be our staff waiting for you at the airport. Please inform your arrival time to
thesun_sun@yahoo.com or phone the head of the organisers: Rachan Rangdee +66 (0)1 8272286 if you would like to be seen at the airport.
From Bangkok international airport, you can get taxi to
"Mor-Chit bus station" (in Thai "Khon Song Sai Nua Mor-Chit"). This bus station is for the northern route.
Then at the bus station, you ask for the bus to Phitsanulok. It will take you about 5 hours on bus journey to Phitsanulok and should cost about 300 Bahts (US$ 8) for the bus ticket. There is no return bus-ticket system in Thailand.
NU campus is outside the town and it is on the way to Phitsanulok from Bangkok then before the bus arrive Phitsanulok, please inform the driver to drop you at
"Ma-ha-wit-ta-ya-lai Na-re-suan" or "Mor Nor" (Naresuan University) at "Nong Or". Please inform us (Rachan Rangdee +66 (0)1 8272286) if you want to be seen at the bus station in town.
The bus number 12 is for coming to and going from the main campus. Naresuan University main campus at Nong Or is to say
"Mor Naresuan Nong Or" It is useful to remember this expression.
