I was in deep shit. Deep, deep shit.

I had money, I had my morgue and I had Erich.

Oh shit... EMERALD!

My mind flew off the handle as I booked across the street in one town I had forgotten the name of. I skidded to a stop before a payphone as I wrenched the phone off the hook, almost tearing it away from the base. I dialed the hotel number, masking my voice I asked for the room I left Emerald in.

Oh god, let her be alright ... pleasepleaseplease.

Erich knew that I was in deep shit. The Morgue's artillery was uncovered and some of the well-know associates were holing up inside to prepare for the worst.

Damn you, Cathedral - you're a fucking loser.

------

*Ring! Ring! She made it to the phone on the third ring, lifting it up to her ear. It was Cathedral, had to be. He was the only one who knew she was here.* Cathedral? Did you finish your job all right?

*She was happy he'd finally gotten a hold of her. The trip had taken at least twice as long as he told her it would.*

-----

"Emerald... listen to me -very- carefully... It's not safe there anymore .. this call might be being traced, but I'll be out of here after I hang up.

I fucked up, Emerald and now they're after me. I just nearly got my dick handed to me by some crazy fucking lady. Oh god, Emerald - just get out of there. Erich knows you're coming .. head to the morgue, just -go- ... I'll be there as soon as I can..."

Click. And I was off like a dirty shirt - booking down the road to catch a cab. Which I hopped into, paid handsomely and told him in a rather emotional voice;

"Get me the FUCK to Cathedral's Morgue outside of Los Angeles ... otherwise I'll fucking -shoot- you.."

-----

*Her eyebrows furrowed as she listened to Cathedral. He really was in a pickle, and now she might be in trouble too.* Cathedral? What happened?

*She was greeted by a dial tone. He'd hung up on her. She was starting to feel very tense. She bit her lower lip to keep it from quivering as she opened the safe and took out what was left of the money. The briefcase would be all she'd take with her when she left, since he told her it wasn't safe to leave the hotel. Rather than go out the front door, she took the service stairs and exited through the parking garage. Now she just had to go to Cathedral's morgue in LA.*

I didn't want to go back to LA this soon..*She muttered to herself. Hopefully, the ones she offended wouldn't find her. Hopefully, Cathedral would make it there alive. She wiped a tear away from her sparkling green eyes as she headed straight into a large crowd watching the Bellagio fountains.*
