*She lay back on the sagging mattress, with her fingers laced behind her head, the cool metal of her revolver as always, only inches away. It had been a busy day indeed. Three more had passed into the afterlife, courtesy of Gillian......
The first had been the simplest. A window left open in the night, the metal of a syringe glistening as the deadly contents flowed freely into the victim. There had been no tremors, no bloody foam forming around the lips, only a slight gasp as his heart stopped. Amazing how the very air the man used to breathe could be used to kill him so easily. The death was quick and relatively painless because Gillian still held a bit of respect for the one who had brought her into The Order so long ago.*
*The second victim's death was not so pleasant. One quick slash across the neck severed her carotid artery, sending blood everywhere, painting Gillian's face with red tears. She -wanted- the bitch to see the hatred that simmered behind her cold eyes as she fell to the ground, mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water as her hands grasped futilely at Gillian's clothes. When finally she lay still, Gillian tore the chain from around the woman's neck, burying it deep into a pocket of her long trenchcoat as she marched briskly into the darkness.*
*The third victim knew she was coming, she would have expected no less from her trainer himself. ~Angel, why are you here?~ Why do you think, Peter? To kill you... *She knew he -hated- it when she called him by his real name.* ~As you killed Greybeard and Diamond?~ *He appeared unfazed, but then again , he always did. That's why his codename was Ice.* Well, not exactly. I want you to suffer, to -beg- me to die. You deserve no less, considering Diamond was the third you've tried to send after me... *At this, Peter chuckled, his voice low and silken* ~Oh Angel, I thought you were smarter than to show up here, but since you're not..~ *She could feel her body tense, it figures that Ice would have booby traps. Silently, she cursed herself for allowing her anger to cloud her vision, raised her gun, and fired one shot. Since she was only a few feet from Ice, he had no time to respond as the bullet pierced the front of his skull, splattering the wall with his brains as Gillian ran and dived through the second-story window just in time to avoid the guards charging into the room. Tucking and rolling, she disappeared into the alley as gunshots peppered the ground around her* See you in hell, asshole...
