MILWAUKEE -- You'd think that after all these years, through all his title victories and amazing matches and TV and movie appearances, The Rock has done it all. And, for the most part, you would be right. But Monday night on RAW, The Rock boldly went where he had never gone before -- and where any sane-thinking man would give anything to go.

"We've never seen The Rock interact with women," he said shortly after his big "you're welcome" smooch with Trish Stratus. "The only interaction I've had with women has been me making jokes about strudel or pie or something like that. To do something like that for the women [fans] and to have the women react like that, our goal tonight was to have every woman wish she were Trish Stratus."

Judging from the reaction of the crowd at the Bradley Center, that was indeed a mission accomplished. The female portion of the crowd let loose with a hearty squeal at the sight of the People's Champ slapping a liplock on the World Wrestling Federation Women's Champion.

It was the other half -- the men in attendance who were undoubtedly dying of envy at the sight of The Rock laying the big smackeroo on the gorgeous Trish -- that concerned The Rock initially. After all, envy and jealousy can be ugly things indeed, maybe ugly enough to turn the millions against The Rock.

Fortunately, The Rock was able to devise a way to get the girl and maintain the cool persona that keeps the guys solidly in his corner -- a tried and true device known as the People's Eyebrow. "My thing was, 'OK, I think it's fantastic. It adds depth to The Rock. But, if I'm a guy, and my wife or girlfriend is here at the arena, and for the millions at home, and their wives and girlfriends are going, 'Ooohhh,' and all that, immediately it's something egotistical and I'm like, 'Screw him! What, The Rock's better than me? You'd rather kiss him?' So I just thought there had to be a way I could do something, some little innuendo or gesture, that would make guys go, 'Damn, that's cool!' And I didn't need to say a word."

All The Rock had to do, in acting parlance, was "break the fourth wall," i.e. look directly into the camera and play to the crowd, arcing the eyebrow and giving the guys in the crowd and at home the wink-and-nudge that without a word said, "Not bad, huh?"

No easy task, that -- making out with one of the world's hottest women, making the women weak at the knees and keeping your guy credentials in order. Chalk it up to another case of some guys having all the luck.
