Chapter 1: Too Cold for Comfort!

"Disturb not the harmony of fire, ice, or lightning, lest these.... Whoops! Wrong prophecy!"
At the Pokémon Lab of Professor Elm, elite trainers have arrived for a discussion on one of the most not-so-hot topics in history-The Great Freeze.
"When the Ice King is resurrected, that day shall go on for eternity. As the world freezes over, only the greatest shall survive, and they must thaw the Great Gods of SpringFire, to restore all that is lost.
"Fire is Love. Fire is Desire. Fire is Speech. But most of all, Fire is Friendship. Go to the cavern, the tower, the fields, to free our Saviors, bring the quartet here.
"At the cave of the king, you shall find the way, but the quest shall not end there,
Ho-oh, Moltres,___, and Entei, must find the Silver Cave."
"Okay, Elm, nice speech and all...But what does it have to do with us?" Professor Elm faced the speaker, one of the many trainers in his lab's assembly hall, over the tattered scroll he held in his hands. "I have recently come across this scroll, and I believe that it's meaning may have something to do with this 'Great Freeze' that has come upon us all. As you all know, it has been snowing for one whole month. Not just here, mind you, but all over the world! This snow is killing hundreds of people and Pokémon every week, and there are even giant Ice Beams freezing entire towns over, trapping them in huge chunks of solid ice. This is very bad, and something has to stop it or else the entire world might be wiped out... But that's where you come in. This prophecy tells of four mighty Pokémon, the Gods of SpringFire, and it says that they are capable of bringing this Freeze to an end. So I have called you here in hope that one of you will be able to bring these Pokémon together and save our planet. "Although some of you might be wondering how to find the Great Gods of Springfire, I can be of some help. Ho-oh was last spotted on top of the Tin Tower in Ecruteak City, Moltres has been reported to be living inside the Cinnibar Island volcanoe, and Entei is probably still darting around Johto, looking for a place to settle down. As you have realized by now, these are all extremely powerful fire-element Pokémon, and if you attempt to capture them, I advise that you do so with caution. A loss to any of these three could result in death to you or your Pokémon. So be extremely careful." A murmur of agreement greeted this exclamation. The Professor silenced any further comments with a wave of his hand. "I am sure that many of you might not have the courage to risk your life, or your Pokémon's lives either. I wouldn't want to either. " A murmur of approval ran through the crowd, along with a silent snigger as they all remembered the sight they had all seen earlier that day. Some practical joker had plowed into the snow on Professor Elm's lawn: "Professor Elm's a WUSS!" Professor Elm then said, "I hope that you all realize that I am a very brave soul, but I am not a Pokémon trainer. I hope that one of you will be able to bring upon us spring, and save our planet. I will have my aides give every one of you a Pokégear, a warm sweater, a thermos full of hot soup, and plenty of Burn Heals and Ice Heals to get you to the Gods of SpringFire.
