Looking for You Music and lyrics by Tracey Leanne Lutz |
Background This song I wrote in the summer of 1999, and I don't think I've ever really played it since then. Not that the song totally sucks, but it's just not quite as good as some of my other songs. But I wrote it, therefore it deserves a place on the website. But looking back at it now, even the lyrics are pretty shitty. Dedication Alan. |
Lyrics Verse 1: I used to be so happy I didn’t need no one. I was glad to be independent Then you came along. I remember the day I met you, I didn’t give you a second glance. But the more I get to see you, The more I wonder if there’s a chance. Chorus 1: ‘Cause I’m lookin’ to find a lover Hopin’ to find a friend. I’m filled with emotion of hurt and devotion When is it gonna end? I’m dreamin’ to find a soul mate Someone to live life for I cannot explain all my sorrow and pain, But I know one thing for sure, I’m looking for you. I’m looking for you. Verse 2: I’m not promising everlasting love, there are some things that come with time. But I can promise you happiness if you said you’d be mine. I know that it won’t be easy, there are rocks in the path we lie and walk. But how will we know if it was meant to be, If we don’t give it a try? Just talk to me! Chorus Alternate verse: I can’t explain what I should do, knowing I’ve already found you. I can’t explain how I feel, thinking that this could be real. I need you babe… oh oh. Instrumental Verse 3: Now I stand here before you, my heart awaiting your voice. For it will be healed or broken, depending upon your choice. You can take the safe route, turn around, don’t look back, just walk away. Or open your heart, try to love me. I’d take that option any day! Chorus 2: ‘Cause I was looking to find a lover, now that I’ve found a friend. I was filled with emotion of hurt and devotion, I’m glad it’s come to an end. I’m dreamin’ to find me a soul mate, someone to live my life for. I couldn’t explain all my sorrow and pain, but I knew one thing for sure, I was looking for you. I was looking for you. I was looking for you. I’m so glad I found you. |
