This virtual tour of our neighborhood was quite simple to photograph and put together. It is actually a very wide jpg which is a mosaic of 12 photos taken using an inexpensive polaroid digital camera mounted on a tripod. Each successive photo was made by rotating the camera 30 degrees horizontally on the tripod. The software used to "stitch" the photos together is  Photovista. You can visit their site to learn more about the software and also see some really neat "virtual tours".
