A young fighter pilot stands next to his Lockheed P38 Lightning in China

Captain Keith mahon stands next to his P38-J lightning named after his mother, Eula. The first Eula D. was destroyed when he had to bail out during a high speed dive test. Four of the eleven Japanese flags painted on the side represent air kills, the remaining were ground victories . Before he left the China Burma India theatre Capt. Mahon claimed a fifth air victory, making him a fighter ace.
