INS | Immigration and Naturalization service Homepage | Invaluable resource on all kinds of visas and regulations regarding immigration | |||
Refugees.org | U.S. Committee for Refugees homepage | This is an excellent informational website for teachers who work with refugees. Recordings of refugee voices, country by country info, search by issues affecting refugees. | |||
Refugee Camp | Site operated by Medicins Sans Frontiers | I've been waiting for this to work with the promised virtual tour of a refugee camp to no avail. However there are teacherresources for middle and high school students and general info on refugee camp life. | |||
Refugee health/immigrant health | Site devoted to refugee mental and physical health | As most teachers will find, the health of their refugee students is an issue in class. Teacher should be aware of the issues and learn how to deal with them. | |||
Refugee Studies Centre | British based organisation | This cite is Euro-centric and academic oriented but nonetheless helpful for those doing research on refugees. | |||
Refugee News | General site with info on refugees | O.K., so this one hasn't been updated since 1997. Visit for the links. They have a not too bad list of organizations working with refugees including the Red Cross, Medicins Sans Frontiers. | |||
Kakuma Refugee Camp | A resource for teachers on Kakuma | Most of the refugees coming to the US from Africa pass through Kakuma. This is a resource for teaching 9-11 year olds but the background is good for anyone who works with students out of Kakuma. | |||
