The 'Billies took to the field on Thursday night for the first time this season against the Anal Chemists. The 'Billies had reason for optimism with the return to the line-up of star shortstop Bubba Gump, who denied rumours that his absence was due to his joining the Girl Guides of America summer retreat in Vermont. 'i play ball, not with dolls', said bubba prior to the first pitch. The field was particularly dry for this game, resulting in the infield looking like a desert in a hurricane. Killer Barnes had this take on the conditions, 'When I looked up to find first base, all I could see was the BIG UNIT on a camel with an umbrella and a martini'. Others could not confirm Barnes vision (mirage?), but did agree that the unusual amount of wild throws to first could have been due to the poor visibility. Despite the absence (again!) of Captain Ron, the team showed a great amount of character in keeping the game close through 7. Tractor Trailer Taylor once again took one for the team (literally) on his way to first, and the pitching duo of Bubba Gump and BIG UNIT once again kept the hitters guessing (wait, aren't they pitching to us?). The highlight of the game had to be a remarkable double play (an unconvential 6-3-5 play) finshed with a smart tag by the Hustler on a greedy chemist trying to take 3rd on an infield ground-out. Ultimately, the game was lost, but the team retired to the Pheonix to celebrate reaching the half-way mark of the season, and once again proved that baseball might not be this team's favorite past-time!
