Game 8: Invisible Isabel Strikes again
BIG UNIT: "Hey, I spent to much time working on my stroke in Ottawa"

Sophie looks on appalled

The BIG UNIT marked his return to the double H starting rotation by pitching a fine game and only striking out half of the 'Billies batsmen. Unfortunately, the BIG UNIT, also became the BIG STRIKE-OUT UNIT, and couldn't put things together at the plate.

Game 8 also marked the return to the line-up of lightning quick "Hot-Bath" Bath played a sharp game at first and added a few key hits in the late innings. Exceptional fielding was also demonstrated by the 'Billies rag-tag defensive alignment, particularly the Hustler and Chuck Brown.

Unfortunately, the Hawaiians had Invisible Isabelle catching, and her two siblings, Missing Maggie, and  No-Show Flo in the Roving Position. Hurricane Harriet should be commended for her dual purpose role of Third and Catcher. She demonstrated great versatility and I believe Harriet may be a little sore as a result of her lightning quick reflexes today.

Even with this short coming the 'Billies managed to keep the game close until the 8th when Chapps the dog scored 4 unanswered runs. The 'Billies were unable to comeback from this particularly with the pitching rotation of Bath, and "The Hustler", and Mr Brown shutting down the Double H Batsmen.  The 'Billies lost a hard Fought but well played game.

On a special note, the opposing team was clearly intimidated by the 'Billies in their team uniforms and matching lei's worn by the team.
