Description/History
Ruth grew up in southeast Texas. Her father owned a small rice farm. They were Catholic from the cradle and lived in a small community called BayTown. Ruth has no brothers or sisters; she was the only child. She met a boy named David her junior year of high school at BayTown High. David, also an only child, was the son of the town pharmacist. His parents didn't approve of his relationship with a farmer's daughter and urged him time and again to not date Ruth. The rebellious teenagers only grew more convinced that they "needed" to be together because of this parental reaction.
Ruth and David became sexually active on prom (she was Prom queen) night their senior year, and like any good Catholic girl Ruth refused birth control. So a few weeks later, you guessed it, she found out she was carrying a child. David's parents were furious and Ruth's were demanding a a wedding. His folks immediately went to a lawyer and had it put into the will if he ever married her, he would be totally disinherited. Not wanting to lose his chance at all that money, he refused to marry her. They both graduated from high school a few months later. Ruth's condition being kept a secret; she walked in her graduation just starting to show. Whispers in the small town were flying and the young couple had to do something. David had a scholarship to a school in St. Louis and Ruth declined her music scholarship to Texas A&M to follow David to Missouri. David went to school and Ruth became a mother. Both sets of parents were relived at the children leaving before Ruth's condition became too obvious. Still the small town gossiped about the two for years after they left.
Ruth and David never did get married. David still had hopes of coming home to his money someday. Ruth's father died in a farming accident and her mother followed the children to StL.
David and Ruth had four children together:

David went to college part time and worked at odd factory/warehouse jobs in the downtown area from the time they moved till his death last year. Coming home from a late shift just a few weeks after the birth of the youngest daughter, He was caught in the middle of a gang fight in front of the 7-11. He died on the scene.
Ruth, her mother, and the children have been surviving on what Ruth could make as a waitress in the Java Joint until Justin Douglas (the one time Prince of St. Louis) discovered them.
Background:
Ruth and her children are the last Descendants of Justin's long lost love. Way back in his mortal life the girl was raped by Justin's brother and become pregnant by him. Justin sent the girl away seeing her as tainted and dirty by the loss of her innocents. The girl died giving birth to a child in a convent. The sisters brought the child to a childless family and he grew up. The line has remained small though out the ages, the descendents, only consisting of a child or two in each generation. Ruth's brood is the largest in the history of the family. Much of the family history being lost during immigration from the "old" country and not many mouths to carry on the tales.
