Description/History
Allies and aquaintaness include judges and members of both political parties. He has advised both on a professional basies. Hie main allies however are with in the conservative Republican party. He is close friends with a lobbiest for the AARP. He also has been known to rub elbows with a few of the mayors staff writers at fundraisers. Always a "behind the scenes" kind of guy, he has now the less some political klout. He knows the game and can play it.
He has landholdings through out the city and has recently begain to buy property in the rundown area of East St. Louis.
He was born in Hannibal, Missouri, just a short time before the start of the great depression. He spent is youth amidst the poverty and starvation of the era. He showed promise early on as a fast learner and was good at acidemics. He worked his way though college earning his A.B from Washington Universtity in 1949, and his J.D. from the University of Illinios in 1953. During college he also met and married Laura.
Laura was younger than him, but she loved him dearily. They had four children together. Like any famliy Deniel's grew and got older. They had the usual troubles with teenagers and young adults. The children are now grown and are working on having children of their own. Laura died early last year of cancer. After a long and heartachingly sad struggle with the bodily invader, she sucombed to the bone marrow disease and was buried in a private cemetary on the outskirts of town.
It was while visiting Laura's grave one late night, in early july, sitting on a stone bench the older gentalman saw a beautiful young woman. She was looking for him. Her name was Tracy.
She had heard of his ability to handle probate cases fast and eficently. She hired him then and there paying his 1,000 retainer in cash. She had aparently bribed his now un-employed secertary to find him at such a late hour. She paid him well to handle a relatively easy case and set up a bank account. Child's play for his abilities really, but she wanted it kept quiet.
Assets include a lager home in the Belleville area; a new model Lincon Towncar Mark VIII (Grey); numrous works of art collected over the years; a large and vaulible private collection of books; a few apartment buildings as investments; and the title to few of the local bars in EStL, including the recent purchase of "Boomerang's."
