Not-too-kind things are said about the VanMan in this new book by a show biz PR man. Keith Altham, billed as "the world's top entertainment publicist", uses his various dealings as a New Music Express journalist and, later, a VTM hired hand, as the basis for a critical essay on VanDMan (the personality, not his music).

The book is written as a series of "open letters" to 38 musicians: "telling his superstar clients exactly what he thinks of them." Altham's thoughts on Van are contained in his chapter "Van Morrison: a Legend in his own Guinness" (pp75-86).
