Review by Scott Thomas:
Live at the Grand Opera House, Belfast is interesting because
it presents [Van's] superb backing band in an in-concert setting and
demonstrates that those exquisite Beautiful Vision songs maintain
their impact at louder volumes and faster tempos. Compared to the
1974 live album [It's Too Late To Stop
Now], however, it's pretty much of a wash-out. The song
selection is restricted to one small segment of Van's career
(1979-1983), there are no surprise cover versions, and Morrison
sounds jaded.
