Review by Van-L list member Cuttsy:
This boot is from an audience recording. There is little crowd interference but the bass
is over loud and woolly making for a lacklustre sound. Its not up to the standard of other
Doberman audience recordings. The band includes GF and as far as I know this is his last
appearance with VTM to date. It's a good but not great performance. Van is in good mood,
at times unable to contain his mirth. The name of the CD comes from a comment made by Van
at the beginning of "Cyprus Avenue": "I'd like to take you to the VM workshop, where we
put the pressure on and see what everyone's made of". This is a concert I was at so I feel
it was worth the buy but otherwise not one for the must have list.
