Fit a boutique size box of tissue
PATTERN NOTE:
Join rnds with sl st unless otherwise stated.
PATTERN STITCH
Multiple of 2 sts + 1
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch form hook, (ch 1, sk 1 ch, sc in next ch) rep across, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: (Sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1) rep across, sc in last sc, ch 1, turn.
Rep Row 2 for patt.
BOX COVER
Top
With green, Ch 46, ch 1, turn. Work in Pattern Stitch for 2 ¼”. (45 sts).
Center opening
Work in patt across 9 sts, ch 27, sk next 27 sts, work rem 9 sts in patt, turn. Continue in patt, working new sts in ch of previous row, until 4 ¾” from beg, turn. (45 sts).
Sides
Rnd 1: Ch 1, working in back lps only, work Row 2 of Pattern Stitch (this will be the back of the tissue box), *ch 1, working along side edge, work 21 sts of Pattern Stitch Row 2, ch 1**, work Row 2 of Pattern Stitch in rem lps of beg ch, rep from * to ** once, mark beg of rnd with a safety pin. Continue to work even in rnds in Pattern Stitch until 3 1/8” from beg, join in beg sc.
Strips (make 2) for sides
Row 1: Ch 13, sc in 2nd ch from hook, and in ea ch across, ch 1, turn.
Rows 2 – 4: Sc in each sc across, end of row 4, fasten off.
Strips (make 2) for front and back
Row 1: Ch 23, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in ea ch across, ch 1, turn.
Rows 2 – 4: Sc in each sc across, end of row 4, fasten off.
Bow Loops
Make 4 of these:
Row 1: Ch 16, sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (15 sc). Ch 1, turn.
Rows 2 – 3: Sc in each sc across (15 sc). Ch 1, turn.
Row 4: Sc in each sc across (15 sc). Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Assembly
Fold each of the small pieces in half to form a loop; lay one of the loops on top and other one on top across from the other one. (you’ll have a loop on the left and right to make a bow). Sew each of loop together at the ends (through the ends of the rows) with red yarn. Repeat it for the other side of the box. (As picture shown above). Made in 2002
