Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch form hook, (ch 1, sk 1 ch, sc in next ch) rep across, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: (Sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1) rep across, sc in last sc, ch 1, turn.
Rep Row 2 for patt.
BOX COVER
Top
With black, Ch 46, ch 1, turn. Work in Pattern Stitch for 2 ¼”. (45 sts).
Center opening
Work in patt across 9 sts, ch 27, sk next 27 sts, work rem 9 sts in patt, turn. Continue in patt, working new sts in ch of previous row, until 4 ¾” from beg, turn. (45 sts).
Sides
Rnd 1: Ch 1, working in back lps only, work Row 2 of Pattern Stitch (this will be the back of the tissue box), *ch 1, working along side edge, work 21 sts of Pattern Stitch Row 2, ch 1**, work Row 2 of Pattern Stitch in rem lps of beg ch, rep from * to ** once, mark beg of rnd with a safety pin. Continue to work even in rnds in Pattern Stitch until 3 1/8” from beg, join in beg sc.
Pumpkins (Make 3)
Rnd 1: With orange, ch 6, sl st to beg. of ch to form a ring.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in ea ch around (12 sc).
Rnd 3: *Sc the next sc, 2 sc the next sc**, rep around (18 sc).
Rnd 4: *Sc the next 2 sc, 2 sc the next sc **, rep around (24 sc).
Rnd 5: *sc the next 3 sc, 2 sc the next sc**, rep around (30 sc), fasten off.
Stem
Row 1: With Dk green, join any free loop with sc, sc the next 3 sc, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Sc in ea sc across, fasten off.
Sew the pumpkins to the front cover.
Ghost (Make 2)
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 8 dc in 3rd ch, join.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in ea dc around, join (16 sc).
Row 3: dc in same st, dc the next 3 sc, ch 1, turn.
Row 4: 2 dc the next dc, dc in ea dc across, 2 dc in last dc, ch 1, turn. (6 dc)
Row 5: Rep as row 4 (8 dc).
Row 6: 2 dc the next dc, (skip 2 dc, sc in next dc, 2 dc in same space) across, sc in last dc, fasten off.
Cut out black felt/foam for eyes, mouth and bows. Glue to the ghost.
