I was driving the lead truck on our little trip from Camp Warhorse up to Camp Spiecher, about seventy miles to the North. We had just crossed the Tigris river and were driving along a pot hole riddened, two lane road through the irrigated fields at about sixty miles an hour where most of the civilian traffic barely hits fifty. Well we come up on a van and the red car. Apparently the red car's driver didnt check his rear view mirror before deciding to pass the van or else he would have seen our convoy comming. Just as we got close to the red car, he jolted to the left and right in front of me. By the time I got my hand to the horn, we had already collided. Glass went everywhere. I just knew I had hurt them pretty bad. I was thinking to myself, this day has just gotten alot longer. I stopped the truck as everyone checked themselves and said they were all right. I grabbed my M16 and ran along the road to where the car had come to rest in the field. By the time I got there the two occupants had already gotten out and moved around the car to inspect the damage. Whew....they were not bleeding and they were walking and talking. I didnt hurt them too bad! The car on the other hand....well, I just hope they had a donkey back home they could ride till the Army got them a new car. : )

This is all the damage to my truck.....bent grille and scratched headlight It appears as though we won. : )
