Nick Carter - solo show in Sayreville, NJ - Hunka Bunka Ballroom
02.20.03

i love him wayyyyy too much.

Girls in the USA (such a cute grin during "jersey girls' too!): his bass player (Akeim, I think?) did the rapping parts. he played guitar on this one!

I Stand for You - kept the guitar, i think

Blow Your Mind

My Confession

Heart with a Home (*sigh* - messed up the words in the 2nd verse - the 'you're the bluebird in my sky, only wanna see you happy 'cause i love to see you fly' which, of course, is my favorite line! but he had such a cute smile, like, 'i'm such a dork!')

Shout with a masterful mix in of Tears for Fears' "Shout" at the very end! We are convinced that the boy and his band watched VH1 classic/80s all weekend! that or a TNT marathon of John Hughes movies! at one point he did the robot, people! ;-) We'll assume that he had the words right there, because it was all just *wordswordswords* rapping very fast!

Not Like You - at least, that's what I'm calling it, it's the new one. Very pretty, slow/mid-tempo song. i think the lyrics might be sort of insightful, at one point i caught, 'i don't know xxxx and i don't know how to love, because i'm not like you' and something like 'look at my neighbors and i'm not like them'. need a clear recording of this one, so people STOP SHOUTING through it!!!

Who Needs the World When I've Got You - *sigh* just beautiful. i love love love this song!

BSB Medley:

During one of these songs, I think "Shape of My Heart" he asked a girl in the audience for her sunglasses, proceeded to put them on, put a towel over his head and pretend to be AJ... so cute! such a dork! (sense a theme?) It was great to hear him do BSB songs and sparked quite the discussion in the ride home about how strange it must be for him to do them along, the whole song, and not just his parts. In fact, you could sort of tell when he was doing *his* parts, he just seemed more comfortable. At times he let the audience sing the boys' part and he would do his line. Very cute!

Just What I Needed - THANK YOU NICK for keeping this in. I love this song! he does it so well and soooo enjoys himself!

Forever Rebel - this song nearly gave me a heart attack!!!! we were standing up on the elevated bar area by the railing, so when he looked out, we were what he saw (if he could see that far) and I was losing my mind, he kept looking over during this song and smiling. okay, give me my deluded fantasy that he can see that far... oh, wait, i am so not a dancer... perhaps i should go back to knowing he can't see that far! ;-)

Help Me & band introductions - 'show them the looooooove!'

I Just Wanna Take You Home - yes, ladies, same intro! we said it before him, even! ;-) he changed the line before the chorus and i swear to GOD he said 'when all i really wanna do is screw ya'. but... it was loud and fast. hmmmm... didn't screw up the 'meeting your parents line' for once! ;-)

End of Forever - which KICKS BUTT live! really good live song!

Little snippet of Guns and Roses "Paradise City" (or whatever it's called) - the 'please take me home...' one.

ENCORE:

DIHTCFY / Everything I Do, I Do For You (Bryan Adams)
I Got You

i *may* have pictures, but they confiscated my camera and after a really annoying run in with the head of security, i managed to just rip the film instead of expose it all... so we'll have to see if the camera place and get it out and developed. and for the record... the tickets did not say no cameras, but they were a**holes about it anyway. which is mostly annoying because you KNOW that nick could care less if people take pictures!
