This park is in the middle of it all, yet
you will feel like you are deep in the woods.
 | Basic Conditions:
 | Accessible trailer parking on a wide paved
lot with one designated trailer spot. You can also park along the curb.
 |
The trailer parking
place as seen from the entrance to the lot |
|
 | A well marked equestrian trail loops six
miles around the park perimeter. This ride takes us about 2.0 hours at a moderate pace.
|
 | Surface is packed dirt and trail meanders
through wooded areas. At several points you can see the traffic along major
roadways, the only reminders that you are in an urban setting.

Riding out from the
parking lot, the trail can be accessed by crossing the road and heading left toward
the fire hydrant. |

|
|
|
 | Potential Hazards:
 | Half a dozen or so wooden footbridge
crossings are required at creek crossings. These bridges appear to be very well
maintained, but care should always be taken to be sure there are no loose or rotted
boards.
|
 | **There is one major bridge crossing that
is closed** The park office confirmed on 7/12/02 that
this bridge is to be replaced but there is no date. You can ride along the creek until you
find a place to cross but it may take some bushwhacking.

 | Rules & Restrictions:
 | Park closes at dusk
|
 | No Hunting Permitted
