~CHRISTMAS MEMORIES~
I went to bed on Christmas Eve and dreamed I was a kid again. It was the night before Christmas in my dream also.
I must have been about 6 and I was so excited. I looked out the window and it had begun to snow...
I was so happy. I wanted to go out and build a snowman right away, I would call him Frosty just like in the song..
All of the houses looked so pretty and magical to me with all of their lights..
We had lots of lights too, and a beautiful wreath with a big bow was on our front door.
Oh how I wanted to be out in that wondeful snow!, but Mom had something even better for us to do..We were going to decorate the Christmas tree!!
Could there be anything better than that!? Mom got out the candy canes and of course I had to eat one right away.
Then out came the Christmas balls, of red, and green, and blue..
and more lights..
There in a box was a beautiful gold star.
Daddy lifted me high, so I could have the big honor of placing it on the tree top.I asked Mommy to please turn out the lights in the room so that we could better see the lights of the Christmas tree..I let out a gasp and jumped for joy. This was surely the best Christmas tree I had ever seen..
Dad built a fire and Mom brought out the toy soldiers for the mantle..
By now I was out of control with excitement. Mom said I had a big day and would have to get ready for bed soon..But first we would hang the stockings,
and put out the milk and cookies for Santa.
Just the mention of Santa made me squeal with delight.
cause I just knew he would soon be there with presents and all his reindeer, especially Rudolph.
We would put candles in the window to show Santa the way to our house..
"Okay" Mom said, it was time to go to bed because Santa would not come until we were all asleep, so off we went to my room and Mom had surprised me with a small tree of my own..!
I climbed into bed and I knew it was going to be the best Christmas ever! I had all these beautiful images of Christmas floating round and round in my head..
Mom helped me with my prayers and she told me the story of the First Christmas, and that I should always remember how this wonderful happy holiday began..so just like we had left the cookies for Santa..tomorrow on Christmas day we would have a Birthday cake for our Lord..
Happy Birthday Jesus!!!
Then I Woke Up!!
Yes Indeed it was the best Christmas ever, because I had the chance to see it again through the eyes of a child and what a delight.
So to all the kids out there BIG and small...I wish you Christmas dreams and God's Blessings...
