Brevard County Trails

The trails spread throughout the county.  Click on a link below to view a map of a trail.  Keep in mind that trails are a work in progress, and if you don't see a trail in your area, why not think about starting one?  Contact us for information on how to get one started in your community.

North Brevard Wuesthoff Park   2000 Wuesthoff Street, TitusvilleThe Park is a 25-acre community park off Barns Avenue just south of SR 50. Here, visitors discover a natural Florida forest with three distinct woodland habitats—wetlands, hardwood hammock and upland pine forest.  A half-mile sandy nature trail under towering trees, the park is home to native plant and animal life, providing a glimpse of the natural Florida frontier. Near the nature center, several picnic tables with a grill are located in an open grassy area, while a park bench offers a scenic view of  the wetlands.

The Enchanted Forest  Walking & Learning trails wander through timeless Scrub, Mesic, and Hydric ecosystems with their wide variety of endangered and threatened species. You can feel as well as learn the subjects of your Natural Science class. Or, you can satisfy your desire to be enchanted by the overwhelming beauty of primitive Florida woods.
North Merritt Island Pine Island Conservation AreaIs a dynamic landscape supporting a diverse plant community and abundant wildlife. It is adjacent to the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge Offers recreational opportunities within a variety of natural and man-made habitats. Take I-95 and exit on S.R. 528 East toward Merrit Island.  Proceed east on S.R. 528 approximately 7 miles to S.R. 3.  Take the S.R. 3 exit and turn left  over the Barge Canal.  Stay on S.R. 3 for 5 miles to Pine Island Road and turn left.  The Main Entrance Gate is 2.5 miles – located at the western terminus of Pine Island Road.

Erna Nixon Park    1200 Evans Road, MelbourneErna Nixon park is a 53.93-acre natural Florida hammock and nature preserve located just south of Nasa Boulevard southwest of the Melbourne Airport. Although surrounded by a commercial district, it is home to many  birds and small animals, including the protected gopher tortoise and Indigo snake.

Central Merritt Island Rotary Park-Merritt Island Nature Center   1899 Courtenay, Merritt IslandRotary Park-Merritt Island is a 37.77-acre community park 2-miles south of SR 520. A nature center designed as a Florida Cracker style schoolhouse offers many educational displays, hands-on activities.  The adjacent 1800’ nature boardwalk serves as an outdoor classroom. From wetlands to scrubland, native flora and fauna abound. Groups and families with children will appreciate the inviting fantasy playground and picnic areas are nearby.

The Helen & Allan Cruickshank Sanctuary   Is an important stepping stone within the county’s network of scrub and connecting natural areas. It is situated west of U.S. Highway 1 on Barnes Boulevard in Rockledge

Lori Wilson Park    1320 North Atlantic Avenue, Cocoa Beach  The Nature Center is situated in the center of Lori Wilson Park, a 32.43-acre regional beach park 2-miles south of SR 520 on A1A.  Nearby, a 3,155’ nature boardwalk winds through a maritime hammock offering visitors a glimpse of old Cocoa Beach.

Turkey Creek Sanctuary And Margaret Hames Nature Center  1518 Port Malabar Blvd., NE Palm Bay  Nature trail and boardwalk, canoe dock, jogging trail, nature exhibits, staff rangers, and restrooms.The Uplands TrailThe Trail is on the other side of Turkey Creek from the Turkey Creek sanctuary, just south of Port Malabar Boulevard, and just east of Turkey Creek.  It is zoned multi-family residential, and preserving this property enhances Palm Bay's only true nature sanctuary, plus maintains green space in a rapidly growing urban area.  It also provides a critical connector to the Brevard Greenway.Claremont Street Pedestrian PathTrail running north of the Palm Bay Community Center runs approximately 1.5 miles through the woods linking up to the back of Harris Corporation and Palm Bay Road.

The Malabar Scrub Sanctuary  Highlights the interdependence of wetland and upland habitats with sand pine scrub, oak scrub, wet prairie, pond, and scrubby flatwoods.
