Chapter Twenty Seven
We met that night at this really cool club called Millennium <
Jeff’s friend was really cute. He was awfully flirty too. Touching me and that.
“Miami” by Will Smith came on. James, Jeff’s friend grabbed my hand and we went out on the dance floor. Lisa grabbed Jeff’s hand and they went out also.
After that song was over. “Back At One,” by Brian McKnight came on. It was my favorite song. I sighed as James and I swayed back and forth.
“It’s undeniable, that we should be together…” I sang under my breath. I sighed sadly this time, I missed Brian.

I have no idea why. I was having a great time and suddenly tears filled my eyes. James noticed
“What’s wrong?”
“I’m ok…can we go outside? I kind of feel sick,” I said. James nodded and took my hand. We left the club.
It was a warm night and we walked along the ocean.
It was quiet when suddenly James grabbed me and kissed me. I kissed him back. Hungrily. I hadn’t kissed anyone for a long time. I missed Brian so much.
James pushed me down on the floor and kissed me some more. He began to put his arms under my shirt and try to unfasten my bra. I pushed his hands away and he put them back. I started pushing him away. He was oblivious to the fact that I didn’t’ want to do this.
“JAMES!! LET GO OF ME!” I screamed trying to make him stop kissing me. He didn’t stop. I was practically smashed up against him. Was this what rape was like? I started screaming.
“You bastard! Let her go!” a raspy voice said trying to pull James off of me. I got up and ran. I didn’t even bother to see who had saved me. I just ran
“EMILY!! WAIT!” The voice said. I turned around out of breath. It was AJ. My Angel AJ
“AJ!” I sobbed. I fell into his arms and started crying.
“I feel so dirty,” I whispered in between my sobs. AJ just stroked my back and let me wet his shoulder.
“Baby…it’s gonna be ok,” He said.
I finally let go of him
“Thank you…” I whispered.
“Anything for my panda,” AJ put his arms around me and we talked up to the street.
“Are you hungry?” he asked me. I nodded.
“Want to go get something to eat?” He asked me.
“Sure…” I said. AJ grinned at me. He took out his arms, I linked mine through his
“Where to my lady?” he asked
“McDonalds” I said. AJ whooped
“All rrriiiggghhhttt!” he said.
“Two big macs and large fries,” I said to the clerk. AJ raised both his eyebrows. I shoved him
“Hey I’m hungry here,” I said. He back away
“Whoa…I didn’t say anything,” AJ said defensively. After got our food we sat way in the corner of the restaurant.
“So how are you?” I asked
“Great! We’re gonna start on our next video soon,” he said
“I heard about it,”
“Yeah…what about you? How are you?”
“Terrible…” I said.
“Whys that?”
“I don’t know…my life is just so boring right now,”
“Come on tour with us, Nick has been talking about you a lot lately,” he said.
“How’s Brian?” I asked carefully trying to be casual.
“Not too great…he’s just really quiet,” AJ said sipping his coke. I nodded.
After we finished our meals we still kept talking. It felt so great to hang out with AJ. I really missed it. I was playing with my hands when I realized my ring was gone.
I gasped. AJ looked surprised “What?” He asked me
“I…I lost my ring,” I said. AJ didn’t ask me what ring. I supposed he assumed it was just a ring of mine that I really liked. After all, most girls were like that.
“I’ll bet it was that stupid f*cker who was trying to get to you earlier,” AJ muttered. I sighed.
“ Baby…it’s ok.” AJ said “I’ll buy you another one,”
“This one was special though…it was from a really great friend of mine,” I insisted. I got up.
“I’m gonna go now AJ,” I said. He wrapped me in a hug.
“Call me,” he said.
“Sure,” I blew him a kiss.
“Sweet dreams!” He said catching the kiss and placing it on his cheek. I smiled and went to my car.
