Chapter 103

4 years later

It was 8 o'clock in the morning and the sun was shining through as I lay next to Kevin, watching him sleep. However, I knew that he wouldn't be sleeping much longer because I heard two little kids whispering as they came towards our room.

Soon their talking had stopped, but I could hear their little feet pitter-pattering on the soft carpet.

I sat up in bed, waiting for them to come in.

I watched as Kristopher peeked his head around the corner. Once he saw me, he came running towards me with his sister close behind.

"Morning Momma!" he yelled as he climbed on the bed and threw himself into my arms.

"Morning my son," I said as I kissed him.

Then Brianna got on the bed and climbed into my lap. "Hi Momma!"

"Hi sweetheart," I said as I also hugged and kissed her.

"Daddy not up?" she questioned as she looked over at Kevin.

"Nope," I said.

"Can we make him wake up?" Kristopher asked.

"I don't know, you might wake the Daddy Monster," I said.

Both Brianna and Kristopher giggled. Then Kristopher took his sister's hand and helped her over to their daddy. She then climbed on top of his chest and sat there as Kristopher stayed on Kevin's right side.

Brianna leaned forward, touching Kevin's nose with her cute little button nose.

"Dadda," Kristopher whispered. "You wake?"

Kevin didn't respond.

Then Kristopher and Brianna took their little fingers and opened Kevin's eyes.

"Dadda, open your eyeballs," Kristopher said.

"I see you," Brianna said as she pressed her nose against Kevin's.

I smiled as I watched them try and wake their dad up.

Then all of a sudden, Kevin yelled, "Boo!"

"Aah!" they screamed as they jumped back. Their pour little hearts were racing.

Both Kevin and I smiled at their little faces.

"You better watch out. The Daddy Monster is going to get you two little stinkers," Kevin said as he sat up.

"Oh no! Not the Daddy Monster!" I said, pretending to be scared.

Brianna gasped as she looked at Kevin.

"Uh oh," Kristopher said as he placed his hands on his little cheeks.

"Come here babies," I said as I reached out my arms for them.

Brianna quickly climbed into my arms, while I stood up. Then Kristopher hopped on for a piggyback ride as I quickly ran out of the room.

"Hurry Momma!" yelled Brianna.

"He's coming!" yelled Kristopher.

"I'm gonna get you," Kevin said as he followed us.

I went over to the couch to drop Kristopher off, but Kevin came up behind us.

"Ha, ha, ha. Now I've got you," Kevin said as he hovered over us.

Then he began smothering us in kisses.

"No Dadda! Not the wet kisses!" Brianna yelled as she laughed.

He just laughed as she and Kristopher squirmed around, trying to get away from him.

"Kevin! No more!" I said as I laughed while he tickled me.

Then Kristopher climbed onto Kevin's back and then put his hand over Kevin's mouth.

"No more Dadda! Unless you want a noogie," Kristopher threatened.

Kevin held his hands up in surrender.

"Okay good," Kristopher said.

Then Kevin reached behind him and pulled Kristopher into his arms, giving him one last kiss.

"Eww…yuck!" Kristopher exclaimed as he wiped his forehead with the back of his hand.

"Hey, don't' be wiping my kisses off boy," Kevin said. "I'll give you some more."

Kristopher changed his look of disgust to happiness. "I not wipe it off. I rub it in."

"Oh, that's better," Kevin said.

Kristopher then leaned forward, giving Kevin a big wet kiss on his cheek.

Both Brianna and I laughed at Kevin's expression. We then watched as he wiped the kiss off.

"Hey!" exclaimed Kristopher.

"I was just rubbing it in," Kevin said, smiling.

"Good," Kristopher said.

"So are my two little munchkins ready to help me?" Kevin asked.

"Yeah!" they replied excitedly.

"Okay then, let's do it," Kevin said.

"Do what?" I asked curiously.

"Oh, nothing," all three of them replied in unison.

I looked at them skeptically.

"Just watch TV, we'll take care of everything else," Kevin said.

"Yep," Brianna said as she stood next to her dad.

Kristopher got down and went to get the remote. He then changed it to Nickelodeon.

"Just watch the Rugrats Momma," he said.

"Oh, okay," I said.

"Put your feet up," Brianna said as she pulled the lever on the side of the couch, so that it would recline.

"Thanks," I said.

Then they went into the kitchen and disappeared. But not before their three heads peeked around the corner.

"Don't come in the kitchen!" they ordered and then they disappeared again.

I smiled as I just relaxed on the couch, watching cartoons.

Soon I heard a lot of noise coming from the kitchen, like pots and pans being dropped.

And I kept hearing all three voices continually saying, "Oops."

"Is everything okay in there?" I asked.

Kevin smiled at his two children.

He went over to Kristopher and whispered in his ear, "Tell your mom that we only broke the expensive pans."

"Momma!" yelled Kristopher.

"Yeah," I responded.

"We only broke really expensive stuff," he said happily.

"Ugh," I groaned, ready to get up and see the damage.

"But don't come in!" yelled Brianna.

"Are you sure?" I questioned.

"Yeah!" yelled Kristopher.

"All right," I said as I lay back down on the couch.

About 20 minutes later, I saw Kristopher and Brianna go upstairs. Then they came back down with a handful of crayons and a notebook of paper. Once again, they disappeared back into the kitchen.

Then about 15 minutes later, all three of them walked out.

"Breakfast is served," Kevin said.

Then the twins ran toward me, taking my hands and pulling me towards the kitchen.

"Ta da!" they yelled as I saw the table set with everybody's plate full.

"Wow! Thank you guys!" I said as I hugged all of them.

Then Kristopher and Brianna dragged me to a chair.

"This is yours," Kristopher said.

"I made a picture just for you Momma," Brianna said.

"Me too," Kristopher said excitedly as he handed me a piece of paper.

"Wow, they're beautiful," I said. "I'm going to put them right here on the refrigerator, so that everybody can see them."

Then I walked over to Kevin and kissed him. "Thank you babe."

"You're welcome…and Happy Anniversary," he said.

"Happy Anniversary to you too," I said. "I've got a surprise for you too."

"What is it?" the twins asked excitedly.

"Well…" I began.

"Where is it?" yelled Kristopher.

"Is it for me?" asked Brianna.

"Nope, it's for all of you," I said.

"All of us?" Kevin asked.

"Yep," I said. "Can you guess?"

"Toys!" yelled Brianna and Kristopher.

Both Kevin and I laughed.

"No, that's not it," I said.

"What is it then?" they asked.

"Momma is pregnant," I said happily.

I watched as Kevin's jaw dropped and he stared at me in disbelief.

"Pre…pre…" he stuttered.

I shook my head yes. "Pregnant."

Then he scooped me up into his arms and began twirling me around.

Kristopher and Brianna looked at each other puzzled.

"What that mean?" Kristopher asked.

Kevin stopped spinning and then just held me as he began to cry.

"Oh, I love you so much," he said.

I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck. "I love you too."

"What that mean?" Kristopher repeated.

"It means that I'm going to have another baby," I said as Kevin set me down and I wiped my tears.

"A baby?" Brianna asked.

"Yep," I said happily.

"You not love us anymore?" Kristopher asked, hurt.

"Oh no, sweetheart," I said as I picked up Kristopher. "Daddy and I will always love you two."

"We'll just have another person in this house to love," Kevin said as he held Brianna.

"Yep, Daddy and I have plenty of room in our hearts to love you," I said as I kissed Kristopher's nose. "And your sister, and a new baby."

"Oh," Kristopher said, now understanding. "Can he sleep in my bed? I'll take care of him like Candy. I'll hug him and give him kisses too."

"Can I have a sister too?" Brianna requested.

Kevin and I laughed. "We'll see."

Then we sat down and enjoyed our breakfast.

Afterwards, we spent the afternoon in the backyard, watching the kids playing in the sandbox with Candy standing by them. One of them would throw the ball, and Candy would go chasing after it, and then bring it back to them.

"I can't believe it," Kevin said.

"What?" I asked.

"That you and I are going to have another child. I'm so happy," he said as he rested his head on top of mine and wrapped his arms around me.

"I love you Kevin," I said.

"I love you too Janel," he said.

I looked up at him and kissed him. And together we said…

"Always and forever."
