Chapter 61

We stayed in Kentucky for a few more days and then decided to leave. It was time for us to go home. The guys were going on tour soon and I had to find a job.

"Bye Mama," I said as I hugged her.

"Take care. And if you need anything just call. Even if you just need to talk, I'll be here," she said.

"I will," I said.

Then Lauren and Kevin told Ann good bye. We waved to her one last time and then boarded the plane.

Thankfully the flight went by very quickly and soon we were back in Orlando. We got off the plane and Nick was waiting for us.

"Hey Nicky," I said as I walked up to him.

"Hey Shorty," he said as he hugged me. "How are you?"

"Okay," I said as I let go.

"Take us home," Kevin said tiredly.

"Yes, please do," I said.

"All right, let's go," Nick said.

The four of us got our luggage and then walked to Nick's truck. We got the truck and Tina was sitting inside with Candy. As soon as Candy spotted Kevin she started barking. Tina opened the door and let her out.

Kevin picked up Candy as she jumped into his arms.

"Hey girl," he said as he held her. "Miss me?"

She licked his face. Kevin just laughed. "I take that as a yes."

We loaded our luggage into Nick's truck and then got in. He dropped Lauren off first.

"Thank you for being there," I said.

"Anytime you need me," she said.

I smiled. "I'll call you soon, okay?"

"Okay. Bye," she said as we left.

Nick finally made it to our house. Tina and I opened the door letting Candy in while Nick and Kevin got the luggage.

"Thank you so much for watching Candy," I said.

"Sure, no problem," she said.

"I didn't think we'd be gone that long," I said.

"Oh no, it's okay. I completely understand," she said.

"Okay, let's go," Nick said as he walked up behind Tina.

"All right," she said.

Kevin and I walked them to the door.

"You'll call if you need anything?" Tina questioned.

"Yeah," I said.

"Thanks again you guys," Kevin said.

"Uh huh," Nick said as they waved good bye.

Kevin and I closed the door. Then we went upstairs and went to bed.

In the morning we were enjoying breakfast when Ashley and Brian stopped by.

"Come in," Kevin said as he led them to the kitchen.

"Hey Brian and Ashley," I said. "Sit down."

"Morning," Ashley said.

"Sorry to interrupt," Brian said as they sat down.

"No, it's okay," Kevin said. "What's up?"

"We have a meeting today for our up coming tour," Brian said. "If everything goes right, it should start February 11th."

"Wow, that's just a few weeks away," Kevin said.

"Yeah," Brian said. "We're going to work out all the details today and then tomorrow we begin practicing."

"Back to work," Kevin said.

"How long is it?" I asked.

"Just a month and a half," Ashley replied. "Believe me, I know what you're thinking."

I smiled. "Yeah, can't be away from my baby too long."

"The meeting starts in about half an hour, so you better get read," Brain said. "I'm picking everyone up, so get going."

"All right," Kevin said.

He quickly got up and went to get dressed.

"You too girl," Ashley said.

"Me?" I questioned.

"Yeah, the girls and I are going shopping," she said.

"Sounds like fun," I said as I stood up.

"Sounds like trouble for my credit card," Brian said.

Ashley hit Brian in the arm. "Babe," she said.

I laughed. "It's okay Ashley, he's probably right," I said as I walked upstairs.

"Right about what?" Kevin questioned as he came down stairs.

"Us girls and your guys' credit card," I said.

"Oh, I know what that means," Kevin said.

"Ready to go?" asked Brian as he saw Kevin.

"Yep, let's do it," Kevin said.

Brian kissed Ashley and got up.

"Bye babe, we'll be back later," Brian said.

"Okay, love you," she said.

"Love you too," he said.

Then Brian and Kevin left.

"Are you ready yet?" Ashley asked.

"Coming," I said as I walked downstairs.

Ashley and I got into Kevin's 4 Runner and picked up the other girls.

We went shopping and ate out for lunch. They did a good job of keeping my mind off of my mom.

About 4 o'clock I dropped everyone off at home. Then I drove home. I pulled into the driveway and Kevin was playing Frisbee with Candy. I got out and sat on the steps as I watched them play. Soon Kevin came over to me.

"Did you have a good time?" he asked.

"Yeah," I said.

"But what?" he asked.

"It was only a few hours that I didn't have to think about it," I said.

Kevin sat down next to me and held my hand.

"It'll be okay," he said.

I kissed him.

"So how was the meeting?" I asked.

"Pretty good. Looks like everything's going smoothly," he said.

"That's good. When do you start practicing?" I asked.

"Tomorrow and these next couple of weeks," he said.

"Are you ready for it?" I asked.

"I'm ready to go out and perform, but not to practice and leave you," he said.

"Let's not worry about that now," I said as I rested my head on his shoulder.

"Okay," he agreed.
