Chapter 62

The next few weeks seemed to slowly drag along while Kevin was gone. I tried to keep myself busy by doing little things around the house, but it didn't always work. Sometimes I would just break down and cry while I was working or just watching t.v.. I tired not to think about it, but it just sometimes it would just hit me. When I was with Kevin I tried not to show my pain, but he knew. He knew I was hurting inside, so he would just pull me close to him and hold me tightly.

When he was home we spent all of our time together. Neither of us talked about him leaving. We talked about everything involving the tour, but we never really admitted it to ourselves that he would actually be gone.

It was Friday afternoon, a week from when the guys would be leaving and Kevin and I had just finished packing.

Kevin and I sat down on the bed staring at his bags.

"I know what you're thinking," he said.

I smiled and kissed him. "It's okay baby," I said.

"As soon as I get back I'm going to make you my wife," Kevin said.

Then Kevin kissed me and we laid back on the bed.

"While I'm gone I want you to start planning where you want to get married and who you want to be there," Kevin said.

"I think I can do that," I said as I kissed Kevin.

"Good," Kevin said. "Well, we better get ready for A.J.'s party."

"Um, Kevin," I said.

"Yeah," he said.

"I don't think I'm going to go," I said.

"Why not?" he asked.

"I just don't feel like being around a lot of people," I explained.

"But you know all of them," he said.

"I know. I just don't want to go," I said.

"Maybe I shouldn't go then," Kevin said.

"Kevin, of course you should go. Don't let me hold you back. You guys do this every time before a tour, don't break tradition. Plus you'll have a good time," I said.

"Okay, okay. I'll go," Kevin said as he kissed me.

"Better get ready then," I said.

Kevin got up and got ready for A.J.'s party, while I made myself something to eat.

Kevin walked downstairs into the kitchen.

"There's my man lookin' so very sexy," I said as I saw him.

Kevin smiled. "Are you sure you don't want to go?"

"You go ahead and have a good time. I'll be fine," I said.

"Oh, all right," he said. He kissed me good bye and then left.

"Bye! Have fun!" I yelled.

"Bye!" he said as he walked out the door.

I finished eating and then sat down on the couch with a bowl of ice cream. Then I decided to call Ann.

"Hello," answered Ann.

"Hi Mama."

"Hey. What's up?"

"Nothing. Just sitting here on the couch eating a bowl of ice cream and wallowing in my sorrows. What are you up to?"

Ann laughed. "Actually I'm sitting here watching t.v. and eating ice cream also."

"Nothing like a bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream to fix your problems," I said as I sighed. "Oh how I wish."

"Yeah, I know what you mean. So how are you?"

"There's good days and bad days. The worst is when I want to call her and then I realize that she's not going to be there."

"I know. The other day I made this new cake and I was going to go across the street to have your mom try it, but then I remembered."

"It's so hard."

"It is, but I'm always here for you. Call me whenever you want."

"Thanks. Actually that's why I called, I just needed to talk to some who understands."

"What about Kevin?"

"Oh, he's always here for me and he understands. But with you it's different. Probably because I do consider you my second mom."

"As I consider you my daughter."

"I just felt like I needed to hear your voice to let me know that you are there."

"I'll always be here for you. No matter what."

"Thanks."

"So what have you two been up to?"

"Just getting Kevin ready for the up coming tour. Right now he's at A.J.'s house partying."

"That little stinker! He didn't take you with him?"

"No, I didn't feel like going. I'm not much of a people person right now."

"Oh, I understand. He's probably miserable without you."

"Nah, he's probably having a good old time," I said laughing.

Kevin walked up to A.J.'s door and he could already here the music blaring. He opened the door and walked in. He was soon greeted by the guys, the band, and the dancers.

"Hey Kevin," Lauren said. "Where's Janel?"

"At home, she didn't feel like coming," he said.

"Oh," Lauren replied. Then Howie came up behind her and pulled her away. They walked off and began dancing.

Kevin went and grabbed a beer when he bumped into a girl, spilling beer onto her dress.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," Kevin said.

"No, it's okay. My fault," she said as she looked up and stared into his eyes.

He looked away and grabbed a towel.

"Here you go," he said.

"Thanks," she said.

"Um. . .you're Amanda's friend, aren't you?" he questioned.

"Yeah. I didn't think you would remember," she said as she wiped herself off.

"Ariana, is it?" he asked.

"Yep, and you'd be Kevin," she said.

"Yeah," he said.

She put the towel down and got two more beers.

"Here you go," she said as she handed Kevin the beer.

"Thanks," he said.

Then Amanda walked up to them.

"Oh hey Kevin. I see you and Ariana have met again," she said as she looked at her friend.

"Yep, we sort of ran into each other," he said.

"Oh," she said. "Where's your fiancee?"

"Oh, she's at home," Kevin replied.

"Oh," Amanda said. Then she began to walk away, but not before whispering to Ariana. "Behave."

"Always," Ariana said smiling.

"Always what?" Kevin asked.

"Oh nothing. Want to dance?" she asked.

"I don't know," Kevin said hesitatingly.

Ariana grabbed Kevin's hand. "Come on, I wont' bite," she said as she pulled him onto the dance floor.

"Why not," Kevin said as he began to dance with Ariana.

I finished talking with Ann and then put a movie on. In the middle of the movie I fell asleep on the couch.

Kevin and Ariana stayed together the entire night. Ariana pulled Kevin's body close to hers as they danced to another song.

Lauren watched as Ariana kept her hands all over Kevin.

"Look at them," Lauren said to Howie.

"Uh huh," Howie replied.

"They seem to be getting a little too friendly," Lauren said. "Shouldn't we say something?"

"Nah, Kevin's a grown man. He knows what he's doing," Howie said.

"Exactly, he's a man," Lauren said.

"Don't worry about it, they're just dancing," Howie said.

"Sure," Lauren replied.

Ariana and Kevin walked off the dance floor to where Howie and Lauren were standing.

"Hey guys," Kevin said as he almost fell over.

"Whoa!" Ariana said as she steadied him.

"How many beers have you had?" Lauren asked.

"Um. . .I'm not quite sure," Kevin said. "But I need another one."

"Me too," Ariana said as they walked off.

As Ariana was pouring a glass of beer for Kevin she missed and spilled it on his shirt and pants.

She began to laugh. "Sorry."

"Trying to get revenge," he said smiling at her.

"Yeah," she said. "Come on. Let's go upstairs and get you cleaned up."

"All right," he said.

She took Kevin's hand and then went upstairs. Kevin and Ariana walked into one of A.J.'s rooms. As they walked in Ariana tripped on a shoe causing her to fall on the bed with Kevin on top of her. They stared into each other's eyes as they laid there.

Then Ariana wrapped her arms around Kevin and began passionately kissing him. Kevin was shocked at first, but he continued kissing her.

I woke up about 2:30 am and the t.v. screen was snow. I got up and shut everything off. Then I went to bed. I walked in and was shocked to see that Kevin wasn't home yet. But I figured that he would end up crashing at A.J.'s, so I climbed in bed and fell asleep quickly.

As Ariana and Kevin continued to kiss, she began to take Kevin's shirt off.

Kevin broke away from the kiss and looked at Ariana. "I can't do this," he said.

"Ssh," she said as she placed her lips on his.

Then she continued to take his clothes off. She held him tightly as he kissed her. Soon Ariana and Kevin were making love.

After a while they fell asleep with Kevin holding Ariana close to him.
