Chapter 63

In the morning Kevin woke up to someone roughly kissing him. He opened his eyes to see Ariana. He jerked away from her and sat up.

"Morning baby," Ariana said as she placed her hand on top of his.

Kevin's heart was pounding as he slowly began to realize what he had done.

"No," Kevin said as he shook his head in disbelief.

Ariana sat up and wrapped her arms around Kevin and began kissing him.

Kevin pushed her away. "Stop!"

"What's the matter baby? You didn't want me to stop last night," she said.

"Stop calling me baby," he said angrily.

"But I love you," she said. "And you love me."

"No, I don't! Last night was just a big mistake!" Kevin said as he got up and found his clothes.

"You know you liked it," she said as she watched Kevin get dressed.

He turned and glared at her.

Then he stormed out of the room. He ran down the stairs and got into his 4 Runner. He backed out and quickly drove off.

He couldn't believe what he had done. He wished over and over again that it was a bad dream, but he knew it wasn't.

He pulled into his garage and sat in his 4 Runner. He didn't know what to do. He didn't know if he would tell Janel. Should he act like nothing ever happened and hope Ariana wouldn't say anything? How would he act around Janel? What would he say to her?

He got out and walked into the house hoping Janel wasn't up yet. He walked up to their room to find Janel asleep in their bed. He breathed a sigh of relief.

He grabbed some clothes and went to take a shower. He felt so dirty and he wanted to wash it off of him. While he was in the shower he began to cry. He realized he had just made the biggest mistake of his life. And he had no clue how to fix it.

Kevin got out of the shower and got dressed. He walked out to find Janel still sleeping. He decided he could throw his clothes in the washer since they still smelled like beer.

I woke up and looked at the clock. It was 9 o'clock. I wondered if Kevin was home yet. I walked downstairs to hear the washer running. So I walked into the laundry room to find Kevin. I quietly snuck up behind him. Then I wrapped my arms around Kevin.

Kevin dropped the soap and quickly turned around.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," I said as I let go of him.

Kevin smiled. "It's okay," he said as he hugged me.

Then I kissed him. "Morning," I said. "When did you get home?"

"About half an hour ago," he said as we walked out of the laundry room.

"Oh," I said as he sat down on the chair. He grabbed me by the waist pulling me onto his lap.

"So how was A.J.'s party?" I asked.

"Uh. . .A.J.'s party," he said hesitatingly.

"Yeah, you know the one you went to last night," I said.

"Oh, it was fun. But it would have been better if you were there with me," he said as he kissed me.

"I'm glad you had fun," I said.

Kevin felt terrible lying, but he couldn't tell Janel what happened. At least he couldn't tell her right now, maybe later.

We got up and made breakfast.

Once we were through Kevin walked out of the kitchen and into the living room.

"Hey Kevin! Can you turn the radio on?" I asked as I did the dishes.

"Sure," he said.

He turned the radio on and then walked outside.

He needed to get away. He needed to be by himself so he could think clearly.

Ariana eventually got up and got dressed. She walked downstairs and called a cab. Then she waited outside.

She was beaming with happiness. She knew that Kevin and her would hook up last night. There was no way that he was going to be able to resist her last night. She was willing to do anything to get him to make love to her. But it didn't take much for Kevin to sleep with her. She just kept him busy with her so he wouldn't think of Janel. She knew that Kevin wouldn't be that happy in the morning, but she would make him see that they were meant to be together. She just needed to give Kevin a couple of days and then she would call him.

The cab pulled up and picked her up. Once she opened her door to her apartment, she heard the phone ringing. She ran to answer it.

"Hello," she answered.

"Hey! What happened to you last night?" Amanda asked.

"Good morning to you too Amanda."

"Well, what happened to you? And when did you get home?"

"Just walked in the door."

"Just now?"

"Yep."

"Why do you sound so happy?"

"Oh, I don't know. It could possibly be that I just slept with the man of my dreams."

"You don't mean. . .Kevin, do you?"

"Of course I do!"

"Ariana!"

"What? Aren't you happy for me?"

"How could you? He's engaged!"

"So? He loves me!"

"Don't be stupid! He's in love with Janel! Do you know how much they mean to each other?"

"Obviously not that much since he slept with me."

"Really? And just how drunk were you two?"

"That has nothing to do with it!"

"Bullshit! That has everything to do with it! If Kevin would have been able to think straight, then he wouldn't have slept with you."

"Whatever, you're just jealous!"

"Right? I'm jealous that I didn't just screw up two peoples lives."

"I thought you were my best friend. You're supposed to be happy for me."

"I am your best friend, but that doesn't mean I have to like what you've done."

"Fine, but it's not going to change what happened."

"I know."

Then they were silent.

"Um. . .so. . .have you told anyone else?"

"No, you're the only person."

"Are you going to tell anyone else?"

"If you're asking if I'm going to tell Janel, then the answer is no, I'm not. I'll let Kevin break her heart."

"Ariana!"

"What? Better him than me, right?"

"Whatever," Amanda said. "Look I have to go now. I'll talk to you later."

"Okay, bye," Ariana said. Then she hung up.
