Chapter 80

Char quickly rushed out of Target and got into her car. She was so excited to be going out with Rick.

She got home and went directly to her room.

"Char! Is that you?" Char's roommate called.

"Yeah Jess, in my room!" Char called.

"What are you doing?" Jessica asked as she watched Char take out half her clothes in her closet and then throw them on the bed.

"Deciding what to wear," Char said as she looked at all of her clothes.

"Where are you going?" Jessica asked as she sat down on Char's bed.

"A club," Char replied.

"And with who?" Jessica asked.

"Rick," Char answered.

"Oh, that guy that you were telling me about," Jessica said. "With the good looks."

"Yep, that's him," Char said as she smiled.

"I think you should wear your black leather pants with the red tube top and the little jacket to go over," Jessica suggested. "You'll definitely drive the guy wild."

Char smiled. "Thanks Jess."

She picked up her clothes and then ran into the bathroom. Once she finished getting dressed she walked back out.

Jessica whistled as Char walked out. Char instantly began to blush.

"Perfect," Jess said.

"Are you sure?" Char asked.

"Oh yeah, believe me," Jess said.

"Okay, now what shoes?" Char asked as she held up two different pairs of shoes.

"Definitely the black ones," Jessica said.

"All right," Char said.

She put on her shoes and then went back to the bathroom and did her hair and make-up. After she had finished she went into the living room.

"How do I look?" she asked.

"Spectacular," Jess said.

"Thanks," Char said.

Knock! Knock!

"Oh that's him," Char said.

Both her and Jessica went to the door.

"Hi," Char said as she opened the door.

Rick stared at Char with his mouth open. He couldn't believe how hot she looked.

"Look, he's drooling," Jess whispered to Char.

Char elbowed her friend in the side. Jessica just began to laugh.

"Oh hi Char. You look amazing," Rick said.

"Thank you," she replied.

"Ahem!" Jessica said as she cleared her throat.

"Oh, Rick this is my roommate, Jessica," Char said.

"Hi," he said as he shook her hand.

"Hi. You wouldn't happen to have any single friends that are as good looking as you are, would you?" Jessica questioned.

Char's eyes became wide. "Jessica!" she exclaimed.

Rick began to laugh.

"Okay, we'll be leaving now," Char said as she grabbed Rick's hand and walked out.

"Have fun you two!" yelled Jessica before she closed the door.

They got into the car and left.

"Sorry about her," Char said.

"It's okay," Rick said as he smiled. "So where are we going?"

"This little club that I like to go to," she said.

"Which club?" he asked.

"Club Metropolis. Do you know where it is?" she asked.

"Yeah, I think so," he said. "And by the way I just want to tell you that you really do look wonderful."

She smiled at him. "You look pretty good yourself."

"Oh yeah, and I should probably tell you this before we get to the club," he said.

"What is it?" she asked.

"I can't really dance," he said.

"Oh," Char said disappointedly. "Maybe we shouldn't go then?"

"No, no. I want to go. I'm just warning you now," he said as he smiled at her. "Maybe you can help me out."

"I think we can work that out," she said.

"Good," he said.

He drove up and parked his car. Then he and Char walked in.

They got themselves a table and ordered a couple of drinks.

Rick watched as Char danced to the music while sitting there. She began to blush as she realized he was staring.

"You looked so cute," he said.

Then the waitress brought their drinks.

"So do you come here often?" Rick asked.

"Whenever we have a girls night out," she said.

"Oh," he said as he shook his head.

Then a new song started to play.

"Come on we have to dance," Char said as she grabbed Rick's hand and led him to the dance floor.

"I love this song!" she yelled.

"Who is it?" he asked.

"Take 5, Shake it off," she said.

"Oh," he said as he watched her dance.

She laughed at him as he just stood there. "Come on. Just let yourself go."

"All right, if you say so," he said.

Then he began to do the running man.

Char bursted out with laughter. "Not like that Rick!"

"I know, I know. I'm just kidding," he said as he smiled.

"Thank god!" Char said.

"Oh! I'm hurt," he said, jokingly as he placed his hand on his heart.

She moved closer to him and placed his hands on her hips as they continued to dance.

"Oh poor baby," she said as she kissed him.

He smiled at her. "The look on your face was priceless though."

"It was a Kodak moment for both of us," she said. "I'd love to have that picture of you."

Char and Rick continued to dance through out the night. He eventually loosened up and began to enjoy the dancing. Char had to practically drag him off of the dance floor.

"Hey Rick, I'm ready to go home. I'm getting tired," she said.

"Okay," he said.

He took her hand in his and they walked out.

By the time Rick walked Char up to her apartment it was 12:30.

Char took out her keys and opened the door.

"Would you like to come in?" she asked.

"I thought you were tired?" he questioned.

"Tired of the dancing and loud music, but not your company," she said as she took his hand. "Come in."

"If you insist," he said as he closed the door behind him.

"Would you like something to drink?" she asked.

"No, I'm good," he said.

"Okay," she said as they went to her room.

They walked in and she closed the door behind her.

"Sorry about the mess," she said as she watched Rick look at all of her clothes. "I was deciding what to wear."

He laughed. "This is exactly what my room looks like."

"Really?" she asked as she put her clothes in a pile next to her closet.

"I wanted to make sure that I looked good for you," he said.

She smiled. "Well you do."

Then they sat down on the bed.

"Want to watch a movie?" she asked.

"Sure," he said.

Char picked out a movie and then put it into her VCR. Then she joined Rick on the bed. They grabbed a couple of pillows and then laid on their stomachs and rested their elbows on the pillow. Neither of them said a word, they just enjoyed each other's company.

Once the movie was through, they just laid on their backs staring up at the ceiling.

"So, how old are you?" Rick asked.

"21," she replied. "You?"

"27," he answered.

"Favorite color?" she asked.

"Green," they both replied. Then they laughed.

They continued to ask each other questions. Both were interested in getting to know one another. About 3:30 in the morning they finally fell asleep lying next to each other.
