OK, I think I can finally continue on these lessons. I couldn't figure out how to explain the lesson with Wa and Ga, but I figured out a way that should work. I'm also going to cut this chapter short because I realised though this is an important chapter (aren't they all ^_^), I can explain it in only 4 lessons.

I've decided to remove the question forum and replace it with a guestbook instead. It seems all of you who visit my site don't have many questions for me and I have links to good forums anyway. But why not stop by and sign my guestbook. I'd very much appreciate it.

I haven't been doing much work over the last few days, but I believe a lot of work calls for a lot of rest. Now that my rest is over, I can continue on with my lessons. I've finally gotten to the third chapter which is about some more grammar related to conversation and elements of speaking and writting Japanese that do not occur in or are different from English. I've started using hiragana in it, but I've still used Romanization for many of the explanations so you will not be mistaken on key points. I still stress that you become proficient with hiragana, because it's not going to go away (but the Romanization will). I will also get my katakana lessons up pretty soon, so you can finish up learning all the basic Japanese characters. This chapter is pretty long and has a lot of important stuff in it, so pay attention. Also, please e-mail me if you want to give me some suggestions or if you think something is hard to understand in my lessons so I can change it. I've tried to break things down as best I could, but I'm always afraid they're too hard to understand. And if any of you have any questions at all, I have my Forum you can go to. Don't be shy, go ahead and post!

Over the last couple of days, I've been working real hard on my lessons. Finally I have all the hiragana lessons corrected and now they all look the same ^_^ I've also finished up the next couple of lessons and I will soon be working on the thrid chapter, which is an extremely important chapter. In that chapter I will not only go over some of the principals of conversation in Japanese, but we will also start to use hiragana and begin to learn katakana as well.

Today I've added a new forum for the page so now any of you that have questions can post them so that either I or another visitor can help answer them. I haven't gotten much done on the lessons yet, but I'll get them done sooner or later.

I've added a little section on manga today. I hope I can get a camera working so I can create some pics for the manga section and the coin trick (it looks cooler than it sounds). My instant camera is making weird sounds when I open it. It might just be out of film, but it didn't sound that way. Oh well. I'm working on the next 2 lessons and I hope to finish them this week if I can. Also, sometime this week or the next I'm going to redo the hiragana lessons. I'm going to do all of them at the same time so they look the same.

I've finally finished the first chapter of lessons on my Japanese page. I've also done a bunch of work on the second chapter as well. I also added a new counter to the bottom of this page. Please don't laugh at the low number of visitors, if I continue working hard on this page, they will come.

School's finally out, but now I have to take driver's education for an hour each day. So now I have a lot more free time. I've just gone around making editations, corrections, and stuff. I have finished up my shogi tutorial. If anyone wants to play correspondence shogi, go ahead and drop me a line on my new email forum. I still haven't done much on my tutorials. I still have to look over the earlier ones for mistakes and clarifications. I am also planning on adding a bunch of little pages on this site. Shogi was the first of these little "things about Japan" sites and I plan to continue them with such things as "manga" and "how to make a one yen coin float." They're really cool, those little 1 yen pieces. Also, one major change I made (or at least it was major in my opinion) is I changed to opening paragraph on the index2 file to better suit my current webpage image. I thought about it some and I have come to the notion that there is more to Japan than anime (but anime is still the greatest thing since sliced bread).

It's been a while since I last updated this page, but the end of school draws near and I should be able to get on a few times a month to write tutorials. I still have to fix the Level 1 test to include adjectives. I had moved adjectives to Level one because I thought they were a bit more fundamental and they were overall really easy. I also wanted to introduce them before I got into classification of verbs. Anyway, I hope to get lots done over the next few months. One thing I'm thinking of doing is redoing all of my kana lessons. I did them in two different halves and it ended up looking funny. The other big project I plan to do is the kanji introduction lesson. I don't quite know how I'm going to do that, but you can be assured I will get to it eventually.

I've decided to do some re-tooling. So over the next couple of days, don't be suprised if you see any sudden changes in the format of my lessons. I also added a page for Japanese proverbs I made myself. Actually, I only have one right now I came up with today. It applies to my efforts so far on my site. I'll post more as I come up with them. Also, it is in Japanese, so you'll need a font converter to view it. I'll work out a way for any visitors who don't have one to download one straight from my main page. I have a lot ahead of me.

Today, I've been working on the next two lessons. But I am planning to reformat the examples at the end of each lesson. Until then, the lessons are up, they just don't have examples on how they are used. I trust you are smart people, though, so I'm sure you understand.

It's been a while since I updated. I've been setting up a few more lessons, but I didn't render the links for them until today. Also, over the last two days I've come up with a lesson plan for the next 30 lessons. What I have right now is going to be classified as a the first of several chapters. This one is "Level 1: Introduction." I have 3 more coming eventually. I've also set up the Level 1 review page and test. After taking the test, you can proceed to Level 2. I have all the links set up for the Level 2 lessons, but I still need some time to write them.

I decided to repalce the last lesson I had with a similar, more relevant one. I also realised the year is 2001 and not 2000 ^_^ and made appropriate changes.

I got another 2 tutorials done today. I'm also working on hiragana K's and G's. My lessons are a little disorganised, but I should get them in order soon. Tomarow, I'm probably going to set up some of my anime opinions.

Today, I've finished the hiragana for vowels page. I've also added a preliminary version of the page for getting Japanese fonts on your computer. I'm getting ready to add the first real lesson to the page. It will be about Japanese grammar. This might take a day or too, because it is a simple concept, but very different than English and I'm trying to find a way to explain it in a way that everyone can understand easily. I will also be putting up the next hiragana page soon. In case you're wondering, I did the current one with my own handwritting ^_^ We'll see what happens.

I've decided to start keeping track of my updates starting today. Today, I've just tweaked various things such as changing the name of the page. I figured I wanted this page to include more about the language and so I changed it to "Boku no Yane" (My rooftop) which seemed like a funny name. I'm trying to figure out a way to set up my learn hiragana page. I should have it up, I hope, within a week.
