When No 22 was recommissioned back in 1974 it was believed to be the biggest tram reconstruction undertaken by a group of volunteer workers anywhere in the world. 28 years later she is still going well, the only maintenance having been needed on the body being of a minor nature, and repainting. When recovered from Heriott, the body was derelect, and all mechanical and electrical equipment had been scrapped when she was written off in the 1950s. 2 Brill 21E trucks had been obtained from Glasgow, 1 of these was taken apart and ovehauled, and the gauge altered to 4'8.5". Controllers, resistance grids, a pole and other equipment needed for a runnable tram had been obtained over the years and these were duly fitted. In February, 1974 at a ceremony held in the Ferrymead Reserve, the tram was duly recommissioned, Mr Tom McGuigan officiating. Start Tram Fleet Revised 02/06/2002
