No 244 was obtained from the defunct Newcastle Tramway Museum and rebuilt by SPER for Christchurch Tramway Ltd. A condition of its use in Christchurch was that ownership would be transferred to the THS after a period of 5 years.

The tram is shown here running in Worcester Boulevard.
