REPORTER: "Below her, crowds of thousands are watching and waiting. Below are people ready to witness the most amazing feat of human endurance in the history of mankind. Below her are the horrible perpendicular cliffs that have slain many an adventurer. Below her are the clouds that once signified heaven's boundaries. And above her, only a quarter of a mile away, is the absolute peak of Mt. Boulder.
REPORTER: "Keep your eyes peeled on those X200 binoculars and those telescopes, because you will soon see the final ascent of the great adventurer: AV!"
CROWD: "AV! AV!" AV!"
REPORTER: "This is it, folks!"
CROWD: "AV!" AV!" AV!"
(Dream dissipates)
VOICE: "AV!"
(Todo grabs her hand before she falls)
AV: "Todo?"
TODO: "Hold... on, you nearly fell right now!"
AV: "Thanks, Todo... How did you get all the way up here!"
TODO: "Well, AV, you don't know how long you daydream,"
AV: "You can't be serious,"
TODO: "It looks like you still have a long way to go! How far where you in your dreams?"
AV: "Ha! The top! I had already passed the perpendicular slope, and it was amazing. Still, halfway up Mt. Boulder in 2 years is not that bad an accomplishment,"
TODO: "2 years, has it been that long since we've seen each other?"
AV: "Yup! The Committee was still a corrupt venture those days. I hear you and 'Mayor' Rabbit were able to clean it up,"
TODO: "Yeah, thanks. That's actually why I'm here. They still want you,"
AV: "Please don't tell me you climbed halfway up Mt. Boulder to ask me that,"
TODO: "Ah, not really... At this point, you should have had a clear view of the city from here,"
AV: "You're talking about that city-wide blackout last night, right? I saw a few explosions too. Any idea what might have happened?"
TODO: "I know more than the Committee is telling the populace. Here's the secret: The attack originated from the Toon Town prison. The electric locks were completely destroyed somehow,"
AV: "You mean every criminal in there is loose in Toon Town?"
TODO: "Soon enough, the city will be seeing the biggest crime-wave in history. Still, believe it or not, that is not why we want you... Mayor Rabbit's self-created police force should be able to hold the criminals. Here's part two of the secret: Its the Paczats we're worried about. The Paczat Nation is just waiting for us on the other side of Mt. Boulder. Ever since their Drought began, they've been looking hungrily at our prosperous Toon Town,"
AV: "Internal weakness, external attack. Thats how entire civiliazations were destroyed,"
TODO: "Now, if you come back, you won't be joining the Committee. You'll be joining me in a new organization formed called SUEPR, funded in secret by Mayor Rabbit. Come on, join mainstream crime-fighting again!"
AV: "And this SUEPR goes to all the trouble to get me, eh? Well, I can see why,"
TODO: "Yeah, you're a model rebel!"
AV: "And...?"
TODO: "Well, you left the Committee for crying out loud. You're a patron in idealism,"
AV: "And...?"
TODO: "What are you looking for?"
AV: "How about how I make a life-threatening situation look easy? How about my renowned knowledge in the field of zoology? How about my world-famous skill as an explorer!"
TODO: "Your daydreams pack a wallop,"
AV: "Daydreams! Wait, wait wait. Are you telling me that no one knows I'm up here, trying to climb the unclimbable mountain?"
TODO: "Well, one drunkard was able to tell me he thought he saw you up here, which is how I found you,"
AV: "So... you are telling me that I have pretty much just wasted 2 years of my life!... How could this be! I was too humble, thats it. I should have been more clear to those stupid news people. Stupid news people!
TODO: "Uh, AV..."
AV: "I thought they'd send one of those sneaky little journalists to follow my efforts. I didn't even record my adventures and discoveries because I thought one of those guys were documenting everything! Two years of my life have been wasted!"
TODO: "Then let the next years not be a waste. The SUEPR has a lot to offer you,"
AV: "NO! I am going to finish what I started. I'm an explorer, not some secret agent person in your SUEPR,"
(They both climb)
AV: "Stop following me!"
TODO: "Following? I'm ahead!"
AV: "Look, Todo..."
TODO: "I'm sorry to hear you don't wish to join us,"
(Todo takes out a large knife and places it next to the rope, below him)
AV: "What? Todo, what are you..."
TODO: "Unfortunately, I think I've already told you too much for your own good,"
AV: "TODO! Stop! I'll join your SUEPR! Just don't... cut... the..."
(Todo cuts the rope and AV falls to her doom. But as she passes a group of clouds, she finds herself lifted back up. She looks up to see Todo holding onto her, but floating on a really neat-looking hovering object she's never seen)
AV: "What the..."
TODO: "As I said before, the SUEPR has a lot to offer you. Here's an example. Compressed Oppositium-energy used to power a strong, thin, and very maneaverable hoverboard,"
AV: "We're on a flying nuclear warhead?!"
TODO: "We have technologies you couldn't even begin to dream of. Things you have just got to see to believe. Things that could help you do anything and everything... and anywhere,"
AV: "... I'm in,"
